For my shower my SU friend made Nugget Boxes as a favor -- they were so cute and yummy too. Below is a link to a sample (not the ones she made for me) -- there are lots in the gallery to inspire you.

There are some places that you can order the tin candles from. They will create a sticker with your name and the date of the shower to go on top of the tin. These were given out at a shower that I went to. It was in a bag with a duck cookie cutter and a bag of jelly beans that also had the same sticker on it. Really cute!

Are the attendees your family?
Sometimes you can find small, wallet sized, silver (ok silver-colored-metal) frames at the dollar store. You could give those as a gift and promise a cute pic of the baby later?

I have seen some cute ideas with the celophane bags w/ toppers that are stamped and embelished. You can also order "custom" M&M's in colors and with anything you want printed on them.....cant find the website just now, but I bet you could google it to find it. HTH! :0)

For my niece's Christening, I made 75 sour cream containers and put lindt truffles in them. I find the food items are popular. It is not something to clutter someone else's house, as we are all trying to de-clutter. Candles are good too.
I don't know what they are called and I gave them all away so I don't have one to take a pic of. Basically it was a rectangle of paper scored in a diamond pattern (so that there is one big diamond in the middle and 4 small triangles-one in each corner). Then you fold it up and seal the seam with red line tape. Then there ends up being an opening at one end that I tied closed with pink ribbon. It makes sort of a sour cream container shape, but I found much easier. I used WW paper with tiny pink hands and feet stamped all over it I filled them with pastel m&m's (found at Easter time or ordered on line). I made 20+ in a few hours time fairly cheaply.
If you wanted a little more pricey. Walmart has stampable frames in the scrapbooking aisle. $3-5 depending on size. You could stamp a baby image image in versamark, emboss in white, and sponge an appropriate color on top. I did this with snowflakes and sponged in blue.
