They can view it online today. Plus they receive their first catalog with their first purchase in June. Plus, some of them already have it because of a special recruiting thing they did. My demo friend is usually GREAT at calling me back or e-mailing me, but she hasn't. I'm thinking maybe she can't show me the catty she has and is afraid she can't be strong! (I would never pressure her. especially if I knew they weren't supposed to show it.)
So are they allowed to show us the catty? Or do we have to wait?

Not a true statement. The catalog isn't online until July 1st. Most demos don't have a catalog yet. There are a few that received their catalogs as you mentioned above but unless you know one of these demos and can go see them in person then you can't see the catalog. These demos have been put on a strict gag order from SU from sharing anything online. They haven't even shared anything in the demo forums. The rest of demos have not gotten a catalog yet nor have we seen it anywhere.

Demos who received the catalogue early CAN show it to anyone in person but not discuss it online. Some demos are choosing not to share it with their customers just yet while others are showing it to anyone that stops by.
Why do only some get a copy before all the demos receive a copy?

I'm not sure because I'm not a demo but I think it was an incentive -- accomplish a particular goal and get an early copy of the catalogue. I think that is fun.

It was a recruiting incentive, so some demos who recruited people in March and April got their catalog a week early. People were very good at not sharing, much better than usual. The rest of the demos now start getting their catalogs with their first demo order starting today. So you'll start seeing new stuff in galleries and blogs probably starting tomorrow.
It's a Charlotte's Web thing. You know, "All animals are created equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
It's a fun time to be a demo, that's for sure!
I'm looking forward to seeing a catalog, whenever I get it as a customer, and have totally gotten over looking for "messy desk" pictures. . . but if you happen to see one, and send me a link, I wouldn't complain, LOL ;) ;) !
Every year at this time, I remember how when I was new to all of this I thought messy desk pictures really were just funny pictures of how messy people's desks got! Yes. . . those were the days of my innocence.
That's a great quote...but it's from George Orwell's Animal Farm. I know that book inside out because I taught it for years.
Totally off topic, but I swear I can hear that snooty lamb in Charlotte's Web saying that. Did they perhaps slip the line from Animal Farm into the movie (the cartoon one from the 70s/80s)?
Mea culpa. Actually, it is an Animal Farm thing. It's the pigs who decide they're "more equal," though, which is probably why I was thinking Charlotte's Web & Wilbur.

in this case the demos earned the right to see the catty early through an incentive. I don't have it and do not begrudge those that do they worked hard to get it. Besides they have to keep secrets too big for me.
Not all demos were even allowed to enter the competition, though. That was, frankly, unfair.
Also, to offer the primary and most popular BUSINESS TOOL as an incentive was wrong, IMO. Offer a stamp set or higher earning percentage for the quarter or something. SU goes on about fairness and sisterly (demo) love, but then gives some demos a blatant business advantage over others. not good.
Besides, it's asinine that there are customers who have seen the catalog, yet there are thousands of demos who have not.

Just repeating....demos ARE allowed to show the actual HARD copy catalog. There is to be no emailing or posting or showing of the PDF catalog or digital images just yet. As far as I know, there are no PDF catalogs yet. So YES YOU CAN SEE THE CATTY! :-)

I think it was a good idea too Joan! I'm kind of tired of the it's not fair thing. SU had a goal and this was a good way to get it and a good motivator for some demos. LIFE isn't fair....and now we can all get our catalog with our first demo order so it's all good!

I should get mine today!!!!
It's a good thing for you that you live so far away from me. Otherwise, I would be begging to stop by your house!

I agree! I think it was a good thing. When I was a demo we wanted that new catalog early more than ANYTHING. No stamp set would have been equal to seeing the catalog an entire week early. And it had nothing to do with making sales or business at all. It was all about the FUN of seeing the new catalog. The waiting was excruciating some years! What am I saying...every year!
By the way, I spent the morning lookin' at it! She needs her copy back tonight, but I spent a leisurely morning looking through it and making a wish list! I haven't bought ANYTHING SU in more than a year, so my list is long. Just the new cardstock colors and inks add up, and I've decided to buy sets of the stampin' spots and sell my older, large pads for space. I have a teeny, tiny scrappin' space. (ok, maybe it just FEELS tiny sometimes!)
