I like #1 the best. It looks like the ribbon "fits" there. But I also like the bow under the house in #2. I guess if it was me, I'd have two bows on the card (#1 and #2).
I love that image and how you coloured it!!! What company makes it??
I agree with SophieLaFontaine, #1 with the #2 bow also. :0) Waiting to see the final product...

Thanks for all of the advice. After messing around with quite a few layouts, I did decide to trim it to make the house 'pop'. So I've already done that, and trimmed (the same green the color as the background), about 1/8" around the stamp. I stamped and colored a second heart and "doorway", and put a little glitter glue on them, just waiting for them to dry. After they're assembled, I'll play around with the ribbons and bows. This is really fun! I hope to have the revised one tomorrow.
I just realized I forgot to answer a few questions.
First, where the stamp came from - this stamp is about 4 years old, I bought it from either Michael's or Joann's and it says "Anita's" on the side. c1999 Back Street, Inc. Duluth GA. I tried to do a search on Anita's with no luck except for the UK and none of the designs were this one.
And Karla56, I live about 45 minutes away from Princeton! You are actually the closest (to me) stamper that I've come across on this board...I live in Monroe Township.

I think they were part of Sugarloaf, which is now part of Inque Boutique - if that helps anyone.
Thank you, RiverIsis. I searched Inque Boutique, and found many of my older stamps and now I know where to list that they came from. I still can't find this stamp. Must be retired or something.
Anyway, below is my updated card. I went through all of the advice given, tried different layouts, and this is what I came up with. What I decided that I really wanted was to make the birdhouse and the birds pop out, so I wound up going with design 3, adding two bows because I agreed that the bow under the birds brought the eye there. I also 'popped' up the birdhouse, added a green layer underneath, sponged a tiny bit of green stamp ink around the yellow layer, and double-layered the heart and the birdhouse entrance. I tried to pop them up using the "dots" but it didn't look good, IMO.
I used glitter glue on the heart and the door opening, but I think the glitter glue did take away from the nice green/yellow coloring I originally had in the door opening. Next time I will either make a very fine line on the outside or use another technique, like diamond dust or something. I used three stick on gems for further interest.
I had a little bit of a rough time with trimming (Any tips on this will be welcome!)
All in all, I'm happy with the way it came out! I will keep experimenting with this stamp, different colors, embellishments and styles. I'll upload them into my gallery as I do them. (I've just uploaded this one).
Can I please ask a favor and that is go to my gallery and add comments?
Thanks to all who responded , you have been a great help!
I just found this thread and want to say, it turned out great. Thanks for posting the final result. The cleaner line is good, love the ribbon, especially under the little guys.
I would be curious to see another card using decorative scissors to make a scallop edge, maybe they weren't quite right for this card, but they would make a great addition to a Mother's Day card!
Looking forward to see your changes. I liked #3. But now that I hear your changes I am eager to see what you have done to it.
Welcome to Splitcoaststampers!
Another from NJ - Me too! Would love to get together to stamp! What fun would that be?
Oops - Missed the post with your creation completed in it. Looks great. I love the added glitter and that you cut out the birdhouse and mounted it.
Very Nice - off to your gallery to add a comment!
In your message you asked for help on trimming. There are trimming types of tools out there but I never had much luck with them. I kind of think its a matter of practice. One thing you may help is that you don't turn your scissors around the paper. You turn the paper as you go around corners. I'm sure there are probably some tutorials on cutting.
It also helps to use the right size scissors that are very sharp. I didn't invest in really good scissors until a few years ago. What a difference - I think its something that every stamper should have from the beginning.
Your card is really cute and I'm glad you shared it with us. Have fun!
Thanks for the advice on trimming, StampHappy. I used a razor that is attached to a pen-like instrument. Maybe I should have used scissors! May have come out smoother. I'll check out the tutorials at SCS and see if there are any on trimming... also I just thought of checking Youtube...I found some good card and papercraft tutorials on Youtube.
