I have been thinking since the SCS'rs in the US are having so much fun with their Goodie Box maybe I would start one up here for us Canadian gals, or guys.
However, I am going to put it out there first and see if there is much interest. I was thinking about 10 people would be perfect. For anyone who doesn't know what a Goodie Box is, here is a quick description. A Goodie Box starts by someone ( me ) filling it up with stampin and scrappin goodies form our stash that we may not use anymore, may have bought two of or just stuff we go and buy to put in there. Then I would send it to the next person on the list. When they receive the box they take a look inside and take out what they want then replace the items with more stuff from their stash of goodies then send it on down the line etc.. Then we the last person has taken what they want and left their goodies in the box it comes back to me and those are the items I get back for what I have put in the box in the beginning.
Some rules for the Goodie Box are :
*You can take out as much as you want, but replace each item with another. So if you take out 3 things put in 3 things. .
*Although I think it goes without saying, don't take out a stamp set and replace it with a yard of ribbon etc... ;)
*When you receive the box, try and have it back in the mail in 3 days. Life happens so this is not a do or be flamed thing just a general courtesy thing.
General info:
-If the box is looking pretty tough, please change out the box with another.
-If we use the computer to do up the address's we can just tear ours off and slap a new one on when we are sending the box to the next person.
-Make sure the list of names and address's stays in the box.
-Let us know when you receive the box and again when you send it on so we know to expect it.
-Please know, the shipping is pricey depending on what is in the box. I am guessing an average of $10 - $15. Which may mean when you get the box, there may be nothing in it you are wanting or they may be things you already have and then you still have to pay the shipping to send it on. Please take this into consideration before you sign up.
-If you are putting inks of any kind of powders please put them in a ziploc bag incase the box gets bounced around and things come open.
Some ideas of things to put in are:
inks
ribbons
papers
stamps
scissors
stickers
embelishments
....etc
Please know, these things don't have to be new or unused or full packages etc. Feel free to put in some retired or current SU! products. I am not limiting this to just SU! but I think we all will be quite happy to keep the contents to quality useful things. If you find something at your local dollar store that is too cute to pass up you are welcome to put them in. Just no garage sale type items.... hee hee
So I think thats about it, if anyone can think of anything else to add to the rules or description please let me know.
Looks like we're half-way there! When the list is filled, could we try to arrange it so people in BC don't have to mail all the way to Newfoundland and vice-versa? Hopefully we'll get someone in Eastern and the Maritimes to play too.
Can't wait. I've got LOTS of stuff that I bought in a "set" on ebay that's great for scrapping but not so good for card-making. BNIP!!! Willing to trade and starved for more variety (not too many scrapping stores in Newfoundland!)
Kelly Bee- Thank you for mentioning the cross country mailing. That is exactly what I was thinking. With myself being in Alberta I figured I would mail to BC, then BC can come back across. Crysta is in Alberta as well but we stamp together every weekend so it doesn't make sense for me to send the goodie box to her right away because she has seen everything I have and nothing would be a surprise. So I figured if we can bump along across the country it may help the cost of the postage.
This is going to be fun ladies, all we need is 5 more !

Hooray !!! Guess what everyone ?? With our friend Amber joining we are at that magical number 10 !
Welcome Amber. Thank you so much for joining !! You are on the list.
Okay, so can everyone pm me with their real names and mailing address's. Once I have everyone's info I am going to take a map and figure out the route. I was thinking about something, would everyone be okay if I sent the Goodie Box to the furthest destination so that when it reaches the last person they don't have to send it across country to me ? That way I pay the highest shipping instead of someone else having to do it.
I have everything all ready to go. So once the address's are all in the box will be on its way.
This is going to so much fun. I am looking forward to this.
Enjoy your weekends.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Okay everyone. Here is the route I have come up with. My method here was to ship the furthest first. Then make the shortest routes for each of you to mail things out.
1- Kelly Bee
2- Gunner1
3- Julia S
4- Ronda Nix
5- cork1035
6- thompson_am
7- Crytsa
8- Corvette85lady
9- shouldstampmore
10- Wenfaye
As long as everyone is okay with this, I will get the box in the mail tomorrow !

Hi everyone ! I sent the Goodie Box today. Just a tip, but the box cost me $14 to send BUT it was due to the size of the box not the weight. I could have gone with a smaller one but I couldn't find one that worked just fine. It is a longer box because of the size of something in there but I can't say since I don't want to spoil any fun. ;) When its your turn to mail out the box go ahead and use the box size that works for stuff you are sending. We certainly don't have to keep this exact box.
Inside the box I put a red report folder with the list of names and address. When you have recieved the box please cross your name off and slip the paper back in the folder. I have a copy on my computer if anyone needs another copy.
Kelly -- Please post when you recieve the box. Enjoy !

Oh I am excited-it will be awhile before I get in here in BC-but I know it will be worth the wait!!! Enjoy girls-I'm sure we are going to have fun with this.
Don't worry ladies...I will let you know the MINUTE (okay a couple of minutes later...okay, after I rip the box open and drool all over the stuff inside and stake my claim) that I get the box. I have already picked out my potential trades to go in the box so I'll get it back out as quickly as possible.
I wonder where it is RIGHT THIS MINUTE??? I can hear it calling my name.
Sorry, I am confused! I just replied to one of these a few posts up that did not say FULL, it was open. So I signed up! Now I see this one. Are there two runs at this, or were there 2 threads and I stumbled on the one that was not up to- date?
