There's a thread on the same page as this one titled "no no no - just look" and the directions are all there. I just read them!
Hope this helps.

Here's what I just typed to someone.....

In Microsoft Word, click on "insert" and then Picture and then "word art"....

Okay, in the word art window, it should have several choices. The top left one in my window is white letters with black outline.... I clicked that... then delete the "insert text here" and type the letter you want. Pick a font you like.

Click okay or insert or whatever your choice is.

Now you will see an outlined letter (not huge yet, that's okay, we'll get there!).

Click on it and you should get a box with little black squares on the edges. When you hold your mouse over the corner square, you will get a double arrow. Click and hold and stretch to the size you want your letter.

If you need to invert your letter (some letters like M and A are okay, but K and L and J and such need to be inverted to print correctly), just run your mouse over the square that is halfway up one of the sides until you get the double arrow. Click and hold and drag the image on "top" of itself. Keep dragging until it is inverted.

Then you should be able to print!

In Microsoft Word you can do this with any text by highlighting it, going into the Fonts dialogue box and checking the little box that says "outline".

Rachel: That works, but only if you don't need the letter to be inverted.... for most letters, you want them inverted unless you want to cut "inside" the lines... kwim?

Ok call me Stupid...no please don't. I don't get the inverting. I tried what MamaK suggested but it didn't invert. What am I doing wrong and do I really need to invert?

Thanks

Cassi,

My computer wouldn't let me invert the MamaK way, either!

My DH figured it out for me. Try this, it may work for you as well.

1. Follow MamaK's directions and get the letter the size/font you want.

2. On the bottom left of your screen there should be a place to click for DRAW. Click on this, it will pull up a small menu. The first item should be "rotate or flip". Click this, and then click on "Flip Horizontal." That should flip the letter for you.

If you need more help, PM me and maybe I can help you!

Yippee! It helped me too! But first, I had to click on the "Drawing" icon in the top of my screen, the one that has a capital A and a cube and a cylinder in it. Then it gave me the proper screen that had the "draw" box in the lower left of the screen. Tell him "thanks" for me!
