I quit using glue sticks because they were falling apart rather quickly. I use double sided tape or Aileens white glue (minimal) They seem to stay together nicely.

A glue stick is fine, but eventually you will probably want to use something else like the tombow adhesive runner. I'm not sure what you mean by the edges of the cards ... maybe the color -- i.e. brushing a stamp pad along the edge, or taking a sponge and dabbing color around the edges. Or, you could be referring to roughing the edges which you can do with a pair of sissors by scraping it along the edge. You can rip the c.s., or use fancy sissors -- endless ideas. A stamping mist of some variety is good for cleaning -- there are some recipes on the forum if you don't want to buy one from Stampin Up or Michaels etc. Or you can start with baby wipes, even a wet wash cloth.

Have fun looking around the site and read the particulars on the cards, and you will soon learn a whole lot more. Good luck and keep stamping. ;)

Welcome to SCS! You're going to love it here.
I think maybe you're talking about the crease? I use a bone folder that I purchased from my local craft store.
For cleaning my stamps, I have a Stamp N Scrub from Stampin' Up! And I use UltraClean by Stewart Superior.
As far as adhesive goes, I prefer Tombow Mono Multi (available at local craft stores and through your Stampin' Up! demo), or Scotch Quick Dry adhesive (can be found at Target & Walmart in the craft section).
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask...everyone here is happy to help!

Welcome to SCS!

I use liquid glue made for paper with fine tips for precise and light application, like Mono Multi in the white and green bottle. Glue sticks dry hard, and with just a few bends of the paper, the glue can crack and the card falls apart. Mono Multi holds like the dickens forever and ever, amen.

Clean cuts are easiest with a paper trimmer, although I use omnigrid quilting rulers and an exacto. Measure twice, cut once. And practice definitely makes perfect.

Cleaning stamps is a matter of preference. I use either wet wipes without alcohol or Ultra Clean on a stamp cleaning pad. The ultra clean conditions your stamps and cleans pretty much everything off of them. But some acrylic blocks will crackle if it gets on them, so if you use clear stamps, be careful. Another option is to buy a bunch of cheap washcloths, keep a damp one on a plate, wipe dirty stamps on it, and throw it in the wash when it gets gunky.

Hope this helps!

Welcome! You're going to love it here. As for adhesive, I started out with glue stick and used it until my card recipients reported that my cards were arriving in pieces. Now it's Scotch Permanent double-sided tape all the way for me, never had a problem. I mostly use diluted Simple Green to clean my stamps, or Staz-on cleaner. Happy creating!

I use ATG for my adhesive and Ultra Clean with a Stampin' Scrub for cleaning.
