Default Cards for the Amish in Pennsylvania

I received an e-mail from someone here telling how the Amish Community is really into stamping. They mostly like floral and nature. Inside either should be hand written scripture or stamped scripture. They save these cards just like we save photo memory books. This is an address where you can send them to. Bart Twp. Fire Company,PO Box 72, 11 Furnace RD, Bard Pa. 17503.
You can also send cards to the Roberts family (wife and children) of the fellow that did this. I understand that they are a Christian family and are struggeling to understand the Why of this. Just put The Roberts family on the envelope. .

I wish I knew how to forward my e-mail to this site as it said it so much better.

Since I don't understand computers I hope it is legal to retype an e-mail, if not please delete this.

I live just a few miles from the site of Monday's tragedy. I want to let all of you know that cards of encouragement, sympathy and get well for the little ones who are still fighting are being accepted. They will be circulated throughout the Lancaster Co. Amish community.
Send them to

Bart TWP. FIre Co.
P>O BOx 72
11 Furnaced Rd
Bard, Pa. 17503

I don't know if you know this, but the Amish women in this area very much are into rubber stamping. They love to make cards and arrange them in their scrapbooks. which do not contain photos, but instead contain cards and sentiments that they may have received from others. Their images of choice are usually floral or wildife. They contain stamped or handwritten religious sayings or scripture.
Many of them will get together once a month or so to stamp or quilt. When they come to stamp, they throw all of their supplies into the middle of the table and share what they have.
I know that handmade and stamped cards would truly be treasured by this group of people at a time like this, especially coming from all over the world. Also, please keep the gunman's wife and children in your thoughts and prayers. They are a loving, Christian family to whome none of this makes any sense.Just address the outside of the envelope to the Roberts Family. Please keep our entire region in your thoughts. Most every native of this area knows someone deeply affected by this horrible event.

This is just about the complete e-mail. Please give this your consideration.

Just an FYI - it is Bart, PA, not Bard - The rest of address looks fine.

I also live a few miles from the tragedy at the Pa. amish school. There are a number of Amish shops in our area who deal with rubber stamps and supplies. I'm sure they would appreciate receiving some handmade cards. Please keep them all in your prayers, including the Robert's family!

Will have some going there this week end. Such a tragedy for both the Amish family and his family. I hope people don't blame his family for his actions.
