I'm having trouble with the SCS search this morning, but I know there are ladies here who are involved with sending cards to Soldiers in Iraq. How do you go about doing this, are there organizations out there to send them to? When is a cut off date for Christmas? What about non handmade cards-I would love to perhaps use this as a service project for the ladies and youth at Church, but most do not hand craft cards. Any ideas? What about soldiers recovering back here at our military hospitals? Any help would be so appreciated.
Thanks, Robbie

Last year my daughter's boyfriend was deployed to Iraq and I made, collected and sent several boxes of cards to his unit. Now that he and his unit have safely returned to the US, I have found another unit I am sending to. I have included a few store bought cards, but mostly the cards I send are hand stamped. I include signed cards of thanks, appreciation and encouragement for the troops as well as blank ones for them to send back home. If you wish to have your group's cards included in my shipments, PM me and I will gladly share my address. I welcome any additions!
As for them not doing crafts - just cut cardstock in half, add stickers or have them draw a simple picture and add a sentiment. If you send thanks for your sacrifices cards, a simple note inside and signature is great (and relatively simple too!) Good luck!
Robbie... I send all the cards I make to a guy named Keith who runs www.angelstampersforsoldiers.com My brother is in Iraq for the third time and the week I got his address I contacted Keith to add his unit to the list, I found out there was 237 soldiers in his company and he sent them cards that very week. There used to a lady named Carol who used to run the program, but recently turned it over to Keith. Give their site a look see.. they have a wonderful gallery too.. plus pics that service members have sent to them.
