Default chalks .. help.?

hi there, i was wondering if someone could answser my question... seems dumb - but I just purchased some chalks. I really like the way they look, very soft. for large stamps, I use cotton balls, and qtips for smaller ones - but how do you do the really little things? a couple of my SU sets have very small objects to color.. am I being an idiot? I guess I could use the water color pencils. that may work... (water color crayons are on order.. havent gotten them yet). can't wait!!

anyways, just looking for tips from you experts out there.

thanks as always!! :-)

I used the little pointed q-tips or eye shadow applicators.

I like using the blender pen. Otherwise, the tiny applicators that come with our pastels.

I use q-tips only for my chalks and have been for 10 years. I really love them. I haven't had much luck using blender pens, not sure why! I adore my blender pens for watercolor pencils and crayons.

Also, don't forget about poppin' pastels. You can stamp with Versmark and then put the chalks over the top.

I have some teeny tiny applicators that look like green sticks with just the tiniest bit of fluff on the end that work very well for chalking in small spaces. I got them at the scrapbooking store for $2.50 for ten of them . . . then my mother was at her dentist's office and they get them in with some kit that they use, but the dentist doesn't like them so he throws them away. They GAVE her 3 tubes with about 50 of them in each tube!

For normal chalking, I have a couple of alligator clips on a stick that I use to grip a cheap pom pom. The pom-poms are cheap (especially if you watch for sales at J's or M's) and I have them from about 3/4" down to very tiny. I love how they work - the chalk doesn't go on streaky at all, and I don't feel bad about throwing them away when I'm done.
