Default Check out this ribbon storage!

I came across this today while looking for storage ideas...I haven't seen it before, and it looks like a perfect way to store ribbon (which is becoming more and more of an issue for me!) I don't know if it would work for the large and medium spools of ribbon, though.

What do you think?

Looks very nice and organized!!!! I wonder where you can find all of those things and how much it cost?

It also looks like they had to roll up all the ribbon by themselves to fit in the embellishment boxes so it would work as long as you could roll up all the ribbon on the spool!!!! Does that make sense? I'm not sure if I'm right on that or not though!!!!

Neat! If you find out more information will you post it here?

LOVE IT!

Same set up that I have! Altho I did not use the Cropper Hopper embellishment box because it was so expensive. I found a tackle box at walmart that I can fit 60 of the CH mini boxes and it was less than $4.
Here it is in my gallery!

Shelly--I just love it! How many yards of ribbon can you put into one of those boxes? What is the widest that the ribbon can be? I have the ribbon boxes that they used to have at Target, but I think this would be more compact, and the rolls wouldn't unroll!

Talking

This is the way I have most of my ribbon organized.

Negatives: It's kind of expensive even with using the coupons and buying the containers on sale and takes some time to accomplish if you've got a 'collection' of ribbon. Wide ribbon won't fit in the small embellishment boxes. I actually have a jar for those. I found there is a limit to the amount of ribbon each box will hold. I'm guessing it's around 3 yards since a I buy MOST of my ribbon in the 1 to 2 yard range and that fits pretty well.

Positives: It's just soooo p-r-e-t-t-y! Call me a goofus but I love openig up my box and just looking at all that ribbon in there. Alright on to the others....My loose ribbon isn't tangled up or getting creased anymore. It's much easier to find a color I like and see what I have. Just take the little box of ribbon out and check it against what I'm making. With the American Craft ribbon I've made notes on the ribbon box of what collection it belongs to. It's easy to grab a box of ribbon to take over to our stamp group for sharing or even take the whole case if I wanted to. Hmmm...that's all the pluses I can come up with real fast.

Soni B meantioned you could get the cases and embellishment boxes at Michaels. You can also find them at Hobby Lobby. Added bonus Hobby Lobby runs sales every so often on Cropper Hopper or just storage.

Stephanie ~ Thanks! I can put 5 yards of su ribbon in one and I have to hand roll them but once I got it all done it is great! The containers are just shy of 1/2inch wide.
As far as it being hard to unroll - I dont think so I pull out what I need. Sometimes I have to pull it out and roll but it is not bad at all.

Oh and anything any wider than what fits in these boxes I wrap around foam board that I cut to fit into a rubbermaid photo/video storage box. I rolled the ribbon onto the boards trying to group them into colors. It works well for me. I leave the SU ribbon I buy on the rolls and they are in a roll around cart drawer.

I stopped at Hobby Lobby today, and got some of the small Embellishment holders and put some of my ribbon in them. They fit into my punch organizer perfectly...here's the picture:

Thank you all for your input!
