I need to order some brown paper and ink - which do you like better or find you use more?
I think I like Close to Cocoa a little better, but I also really like the Sending Love Specialty paper in the Occasions mini, which matches Choc Chip. Right now, I can only afford to get one or the other. Any opinions?
I like them both, but I use Chocolate Chip more often. It's a nice "softer" alternative to black.
Just an idea - sometimes in my stamp club, two people will split orders of cardstock if they both want the same colors. For instance, person A orders a package of Chocolate Chip, and person B orders a package of Close to Cocoa. Then when the order arrives, they divide the packages in half so they end up with 12 sheets of each color. Is there anyone who would be willing and able to do that with you so that you can get both colors?

Not sure if it helps your decision but the DP is (was?) on back order the last time I looked.
If you are a sponger go for Close to Cocoa. Or go for the Choc Chip paper and the cocoa ink. I find that ink more forgiving but still strong enough to use for images you might color.

I already have choc. chip and I've been trying to decide between Soft Suede and Close to Cocoa to get next. I'm probably going to go with Close to Cocoa since Soft Suede is an "in color" and will be going away soon. Besides, I think I like the color of Close to Cocoa better anyway!
Lately I've been using Chocolate Chip more frequently. It's my new black- I like the contrast with some of the lighter colors, especially with pinks and blues.
I have been using Close to Cocoa more lately, only because I'm just about out of Chocolate Chip (no full sheets left) I have been waiting to place a PTI order because I am going to order Dark Chocolate to use in place of Chocolate chip. Having said that, the darker is my first choice!
Another vote for Chocolate Chip. I just seem to reach for it much more than the Cocoa, even though they live right next to each other in my paper stash!

If I had to choose one, I'd choose Chocolate Chip.

Your instinct to go with the Close to Cocoa is a good one! It will pair nicely with the Choc Chip that you already have; the Soft Suede is an off-color brown and looks nasty with the other two colors (JMHO ;)).
