I was watching a show on HG TV yesterday about people who have converted unusual buildings into homes. There was one that caught my eye, but I missed the city it is in. I wonder if anyone has been there.
This couple had bought an old church. It is definitely in a city, not out in the country. First, the lady converted the first floor into a stamp store. Then they converted the second floor into an amazing home.
Anyway, the quick shots of the store were unbelievable. There were hundreds of stamps on display, along with racks of paper, etc. It looked like a huge store! I just wondered if anyone has been there, and where it is. I would love to go visit!

Well, I know that the Stampeddlar in Northville, Michigan is in a former church, but I don't think it's the one you saw on television.
I couldn't get your link to work, but I will try typing in the website.
Thanks girls. I'm not really anywhere near Michigan. Maybe when I retire.....
My husband and I can travel the country. He would love to see all of the baseball stadiums. I would like to see all of the National Parks, and all of the stamp stores.
It does say it is located in a 118 year old victorian church....
Hmmm....I think the church was much bigger, and darker. However, maybe the store is just a little piece of it. They had a lot of wood, and a lot of unusual windows.
Oh, I think that is it. I looked at the list of classes, and the first name is Margene Buchave. I'm pretty sure that was the name they flashed up on the screen.
It looked a lot bigger on TV than it does on their website. I guess TV knows how to make the camera work for you.

The store is only one piece of the church...there are a few other shops in there too.
Here's a bit on the Northville Chamber of Commerce site:

The website really doesn't show the size of the shop very well...it is really neat inside, I will say! It was my favorite place to drop the big bucks before I became a demo...they are the biggest RS shop in this area.
Okay, now I really want to go there! If you loved spending money there, it must be worth visiting. I do have a niece who lives near Detroit. Maybe I'll have to go visit her. Of course, Michigan is a huge state. Does anyone know where Northville is located, in relation to Detroit?

Mapquest says Detroit is about 32 miles southeast of Northville...

I have been there! Once and I only live 20 minutes away, I want to go back.
Where close to Detroit does you niece live, which, town/city/suberb? She may be close to Northville than you realize.
That is cool that the store was featured on HGTV. The church is bigger than the RS, they had other stores rooms, I think a dance studio and even some studios I think the stamp store uses for classrooms, if you go in through the back you see all that before you get to the store and it was dark! I even think they had Primas when I went, during the winter, but I am not sure and didn''t know about them yet, so that is one reason I want to go back!
I have also been to that stamp store. Northville is a quaint little town about 10 miles north of Plymouth Michigan. There is a wonderful arts and crafts show in Plymouth in July and we usually go there every year and then go to Northville, but we are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year and the party is the same weekend of the art show. It's called "Art in the Park".
