I just found out that just by clicking ont he adds that are in the top right corner of the pages you can assist Daven with the price of running this website!!! I thought all this time that I had to buy something from those sites!!! So here is my thought, it may take a few more seconds but I am going to click on the ads everytime i get to a new page...what is a few seconds if I can help out Daven in the expense of running this site! Now the question is,

This is also a good time to remind all the new members that they can support the site with a donation through Paypal. This money helps keep SCS running smoothly and continues to make it the best place on the web (imho). The link is on teh bottom left of the SCS homepage.
And if you donate $20 for the year, you get to see the AWESOME creations in the "Dirty Dozen Gallery" each month. That alone is worth more than a magazine subscription!!

See now why didn't I think to add that! Having a DUH moment I guess! Thanks Britta!
thanks everyone! yesterday was about double the normal in terms of visits to the advertisers. to be fair to these people though, you really should restrict your clicks to those advertisers that you have a sincere interest in - these folks pay a fee to google for each and every visitor they get.
your clicks do have an impact! we're able to pay a substantial portion of our now-massive hosting bill through the ad revenue we generate with google. so keep it up :^) but just be sure that they are organizations or products that you *do* have a genuine interest in.
Hey!!! I'm with you!! I just learned about that while browsing through a magazine recently and now I find this thread at the bottom of the page.
Although SCS may only get a tiny fraction of a cent for each click, it still should help. There are thousands of us members!
CLICK, CLICK, CLICK................
here's the deal. these advertisers pay every time an ad is clicked. that's good for us, right? yes, it is. but it's bad for the advertisers if you visit their site with no interest in their product or no intention to buy, because they have to pay for each click.
it's also bad for g o o g l e, because it reflects poorly on their advertising program if their advertisers get lots of clicks, but no sales.
oh, and they'll cancel us for fraudulent clicks.
so, visiting the advertisers: great!
visiting the advertisers with no interest in their products: not great
Sounds like some clicking is good - but not too much!
Probably still better to join the group. I am getting very close! A few more debts to pay off and I may just be there. Maybe for my birthday DH?? (October!)
I know that I shop on Amazon - and now I always enter through SCS when I am ready to go shopping! The button is down a the bottom of the Home Page on the left...
