Default Coaster Help

I love all the tile coasters people have made and posted on the website. I know you get them at Lowes or Home Depot. But what do I do once I get them? What kind of ink do I use and do I have to seal it? If so what do I use? Where can I find the cork to put on the bottom side? Any help or info would be much appreciated!

1. open the box of tumbled tiles before you buy them to make sure the faces are not filled with holes.
2. wash them in soapy water, rinse and let them air dry
3. stamp with StazOn, let dry
4. color with chalk ( i used q-tips to apply and the used a clean one to take off extra chalk then re-applied where I wanted more vivid color)
5. spray with fixative spray
6. attach felt to bottom ( i bought a piece of beige felt and cut 4 little squares ~1/2" and placed in four corners)

HTH,
Sue

You can also stamp the tiles with craft ink. When done stamping I put a paper towel over it to take of excess ink. Next I bake them in the oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
No need to seal then. Of course, I haven't tried putting a hot pot on it.

Hope this helps. Hugs and smiles.

I have stamped with the stazon and then colored with the pure color pencils. seal with a matte finish sealer and you are done. Water will puddle on the top but I haven't had any discoloration or water that runs off.
Good luck and keep us posted as to how yours turn out!

I stampled the stipple rose on the tile with versa marker then applied chalk with sponge daubers. Sprayed a clear sealer on. I found Protective Felt Pads at the hardware store that come with different size circles and adhesive on the back. Worked great...I will down load so you can see!
