I HAD it and HATED it. Not sturdy at all and it doesn't spin well at all. I have heard that people put theirs on a lazy susan, but you shouldn't have to!!!!
I have heard that most people don't like theirs!
I just got mine and I hate it! I'm sorry I didn't go with my first instincts and order another PortaInk. I should have known better. I am going to call and see if they will take it back!
I have it and yea, I'm like everyone else. I may not hate it, but I don't really like it either. It is a little hard to spin. I'd rather have something to hang on my wall next to my table for the pads, like cassette holders.
I have it, but have mixed feeling about it. I thought the quality of the caddy left much to be desired. It is made of plastic and doesn't seem very sturdy. Mine does spin OK, but I am just a beginning stamper and I don't own a lot of ink pads. I also don't like the fact that the caddy will not hold all of SU's ink pads (48 colors plus the neutral colors). The only things I do like about it is that the caddy is compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space and that I can store other brands of ink pads in the caddy. HTH!

I have it and I love it! I like that I can keep all my classic reinkers in it(I can't keep all of my reinkers in it, I have to many).
The reason it does not spin easy is because Stampin' Up! didn't want it to 'free spin'. If it free spun, with its high center of gravity, loaded with pads and reinkers it would tip over. And you would have a big mess.
Only thing I don't like is that it only holds 48 pads:mad: . I would like to put my neutrals on it also, but they don't fit.
A girlfriend of mine got it and hated it as well. When we talked it our SU rep, she contacted SU, and they said it wasn't supposed to spin. Sure sounds silly to me! It isn't inexpensive, either! I'm still looking for a space-saving (and well made) SU stamp pad holder...any suggestions?

I have it and love it! I can understand people not liking how it spins (or doesn't spin), but that doesn't bother me. Many of the others I looked at would need to be mounted to the wall, and I wanted one that I could carry from room to room. I also love the storage area on top. It is the perfect amount of space for my reinkers. So, that's my $.02. Good luck with your decision.
Oh, and if you do decide to get the SU! one, I would get it during SAB so that you can get a free stamp set.
Thanks for all your imput! I will not order one, as I want one that really spins around! I will check out the other brand as some of you suggested! I won't be able to buy it until this summer, so I have plenty of time to think about it!
I went to the www.portaink.com site, but it is "under construction." I did a search on google under portaink and found a site for Ink Caddy storage. This site has great caddies!! I plan to order one of these, I just need to decide which one I want. They are all 12 x 12 x approx 20 tall and have no only a place for ink pads, but a hole for the refill ink next to the ink pad. There are several for SU and at least one for CTMH. They also have pegs to hold wheels. It is worth the time to check out.
Love mine as well. I think the way it spins is perfect...not too fast, but not hard. I don't have a lot of reinkers yet, so I use the top for storing my ribbon...works great for me!

After digging through drawers to find my pads, I feel my color caddy is serving me well. It's not the sturdiest thing I've ever come across, but that doesn't bother me much. It doesn't spin super easily, but again, that's okay. I had a hard time deciding what to get since I had SO many ink pads to house. I wavered between wood and SU for some time, but ultimately decided to just get the color caddies from SU. I got 2. 1 for classic and 1 for craft and neutrals. I love that the reinkers are on top with their color family. I am happy with my purchase and even happier that I am no longer digging through drawers to find my ink pads.
I, being the dutiful SU! demo, thought that I would purchase the color caddy so I could tout it's wonderful benefits. So, I can't lie. The caddy is cumbersome and very limited since it will only hold the 4 families, no neuts. I purchased a wooden holder off eBay that holds 60 pads and can sit on the table or mount on the wall. It is 24" wide, 32" high and 3" deep. Not a huge footprint if leaving it on the table like I do. Great concept SU had, just poor design qualities. HTH
I have 2- one for craft one for classic and I love them both.. very clean and you can hold alot in a small space. For my non SU inks I have the cassette holder kind from ebay and it works well but not moveable and the ink pads dont fit perfectly so some hang out the edges and some get lost inside the slot.. I know in the otaink you can get the inserts but I have not tried that one..I was hesitant to get the SU one but did and then another.. they both spin without trouble and hold all 48 inks AND refills in a small space..
I haven't used the SU caddy, but wouldn't buy it either because it doesn't hold all the colors. You have the basic 48, but if you have any neutrals, versamarks, etc, there's no place to put them. If you browse online, there are tons of them for sale...all different styles. I wish I could find the site of the one I want...it has a place for the re-inker, the pad, and the market all in a row...so you can store it all in one place. Gotta love that!
I didn't get the SU one because it doesn't hold all the stamp pads. I begged my DH for one from http://www.suink.net/ for Christmas. I have the ultimate with drawers and I love it. I don't have many reinkers but the ones I do have are stored easily. It turns great and I had it stained. It isn't small but spins perfectly.
