Question Color Coordination

I just heard about a website that helps with coordinating SU colors.... you just input one or two SU colors you want to use and it gives you suggestions for other SU colors to use with them. Does anyone know about a website like this or know the web address? Thank you.

I think this site was created by one of our own SCS'ers! I don't have the link saved on this computer but I know someone else will have it for you!

Question

I feel really stupid for asking this but I guess this is the best place for it.
How exactly do you use this site. There are no directions and I need directions. Do you just click in the drop-down box and choose a color and then hit search or what? I feel like a dummy. I also tried the button that says "surprise me" but I am not really getting that either...sorry to be so dumb about this but I have seen it before and I couldnt quite figure it out then, either...someone help

Jimmi, It's really easy to use; say if you're making a card and Rose Red is your main color, choose that from the drop down box; if you know you also want to use Celery, choose that from the second box; click on search and it will bring up many combos that include there 2 colors; you can choose 1 color or more, depending on what you already know you want to use;

Basically you need to know at least 1 color you want to work with, and then you chose that color from the drop down menu. Hit "search" and you will get every combo in the database that has your color in it. If you know 2 colors that you'd like to use, then choose those 2 colors and hit "search" and it will pop up all the combos that have BOTH your colors in them. And so on and so forth.

There is no color theory to the combo’s, they are just combos that I’ve collected and other people have entered. Some might follow the color “rules” but that really isn’t what this is all about. I had my DH make this so I could see how colors would look together before I cut into my expensive CS.

The surprise me button will randomly generate a 5 color combo. There is no color theory behind this, it's truly random. It's really a "Just for fun" thing, but you'll be surprised at the combo's it spits out

There is no rhyme or reason to the order the colors come up in other than that is the order they were entered into the database. The little *'s don't mean anything other than they are the new colors from last year and will be removed with the new version.

If you have a combo that you'd like to enter, then chose all your colors and hit "submit". If the combo isn't already in the database, it will be added. If it is in the database, you'll get a notice that it's already there and was not added.

I HTH If you have any other questions, just ask!

kathyc & laurakj-
You both helped me.
I guess I was thinking about it too much. I almost never use more than 2 colors and a white so it was just not registering with me. I printed out the new SU! In Color combo chart, too and I couldnt believe they want you to use 4 colors all together it is just too much for me to handle. It is hard enough for me to find 2 colors that I like together but this just may help me break out of my color rut!!
I think I'll start tonight by just putting in 1 color and then force myself to make a card with all the colors that it lists for me, my own personal color challenge, thanks!

Hi Laura, I knew you would supply much better directions than me! I figured I'd jump in with a quick answer til you got back here; thanks for all your hard work on this; Jimmi, I am like you and hardly use more than 2 colors which is why I try to participate in the color challenges, to break out of that! When I tested the colors from my directions above the system offered some 3-color suggestions and some 5 color combos; Like Laura said, it's a good way to see what might look good together before cutting the CS (and without having to lay out all your cs on the table!);
