Default In Color Stampin Spots

I was reading another thread in which it was suggested that SU! offer their In Colors in stampin spots. What a great idea! I went to stampinup.com and emailed them with that very suggestion - of course they won't revamp their marketing strategies for little ole me, but I feel better for having asked!

There are websites that sell uninked 1" spots. You could just get the refills and the uninked spots and make your own.

I don't remember the website. But I'm sure someone around here has it

Talking In Color Spots

If you go to the website of Welburn Gourd Farm (www.welburngourdfarm.com) you can buy individual ink dye applicator cubes for $1.65 each. They are always listed as one of their top selling products. They are exactly like the SU spots only the plastic is black instead of white. I ordered a dozen last year in anticipation of a couple years worth of In Color colors. Now I have my own set of spots in all of the great new colors!

You guys are so smart! How much ink does the little spot take? Maybe I could find a few people that would want to go in on the reinkers and then more than one of us could make the in color spots!

I've inked 4 sets so far and still have over half a bottle of reinker. So, it doesn't take much. And, now I have all the colors AND the reinkers for use many years down the road.

I know this is kinda "getto" but I made my own pads by buying dye ink pads for $1 at AC Moore that had a similar color base as the new SU pads (orange for the Guava, etc). Then I washed them out with water (It only took a minute or two to do. Then I dried the surface with a paper towel and let it dry a bit. I couldn't wait for the pad to dry fully (... so impatient)... then I inked those guys up with my SU refill bottle and VOILA!!! ;)I was surprised that it didn't even take a third of the reinker (you can kinda tell in the pic)!

I also took a piece of the coordinating CS and cut it just slightly smaller than the top, wrote the name on with a sharpie and adhered it to the lid of the ink pad. Then I used a couple pieces of wide clear packing tape to cover the whole thing.

I now have all the colors with no sh/h for blank spots. My "new" pads are working really well, and will certainly do me for a year!

That's not a bad idea- especially since the uninked spots I bought cost more than a dollar each!
