 O.K. here is my dilemma. I have wheels and the handles. now I don't know what to do about ink cartridges? What colors do you need to go with them?
I have quiet a few of the wheels. Lots of which I have gotten from the retired list. Any help on colors or ideas of what to do?
I am so scared they will retire the cartridges, because so many of the wheels were discontinued.

Thanks , any input will help me. Grannypat
I only have a black cartridge, if I want colors I just roll the wheel over my stamp pads when I want color. It works just fine.
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.

Me too. If I'm doing something bigger than a card or if I'm doing a lot of a card I'll get the cartridge. I usually just keep 2 blank cartridges of each size and I have the reinkers anyway. Then, if I'm doing a lot something (like a swap or christmas cards, invites, etc.) I can try out different colors using the pads without committing to a color before I'm sure. When I've decided on a color I just use my reinker to make that one.
I also have one inked in versamark (so it's sort of every color LOL) and I have one in close to cocoa. Sometimes i think the black looks too harsh, especially with soft colors I used close to cocoa when I did baby thank yous using the wash day wheel.

Same here! Now I actually USE my wheels! I always wanted to before, but just never pulled them out because it always seemed like such a pain. I never seemed to get as 'clean' of an image as I wanted (and I tried ALL sorts of tips/tricks) as I'm VERY picky with how 'clean' a stamped image should look.
Don't worry about SU retiring all the inks! They didn't retire all the wheels!
I too use the rolling the image over my ink pad technique!
As a matter of fact....I don't have any inks for my handle, I feel like I'm saving money just using my pads for double duty! lol
There are a lot of possiblities with the wheels.....you won't regret your purchase!!

That's what we do too!

I use blank cartridges and then when I need a certain color I use my re-inkers and fill up a blank one. Then I store them next to the same color ink pad, marker and re-inker!
Interesting thought though about the unmounting thing.

I have just a few cartridges. I was using my ink pads and I still do most of the time. I just looked at what colors I was going for most often and bought the cartridges...it is only about 4 colors...not too bad. It makes it a lot easier and smoother....not having to re-ink if I'm wheeling a whole sheet of cardstock (for like a one sheet wonder).

Interesting! How long are the images (inches) after they are unmounted? I suppose the better question to ask is what size block do I need to do this?
The Versamark ink makes a subtle background with any color cardstock, then black is nice to have & I'll have to try the brown that was mentioned previously.
