I will say that I believe I'll be the luck recipient of more stamps for Christmas and my current shelving is rapidly becoming inadequate. So, I'll be buying some additional storage after Christmas. Hee!
My storage just broke! The stamps were too heavy and a two of the legs broke... I'll be doing the same after Christmas.
I have been stamping for just over a month now and am FULLY addicted! I have about 5 non-SU and 13 SU sets!!! Wow, all that in a month. You are not alone :-)
And I thought I had it bad(LOL). I have one of those pattern file cabinets completely filled with SU that I have to keep rearranging because I keep adding more and more, so I would say at the least 225 sets. The other filing cabinet houses two complete drawers of other company stamps purchased from retail stores. I'd say , well the last time I counted, I have around 30 small wheels and 10 large wheels, a few sets of clear stamps..... and so on and so on. I haven't posted anything as of yet, but I will soon! Welcome aboard and I hope you are having as much fun as I am just being apart of this great gathering of inspirational people.
Even if you were talking about SU! stamps only, I wouldn't be able to give you an exact number. If you mean *in total* then you're so out of luck. I have an unreal amount of unmounted stamps, and a few drawers of wood-mounted, four full large boxes of SU!, and now the SU! stamps and supplies are overflowing into the rest of my studio. I have to think of something new to do for storage.
I have been stamping since summer! and I have 20 SU sets and I have been getting some (5) of those unmounted clear stamps from my dallor store. I hate looking through my SU book and I hate looking at the new stuff. Like the Sel-a-bration sets because everytime I look through it I see more sets I want lol. I only have a small budget for me so I try to save it month to month to buy more.
hi..not sure what to post where...but here goes....question #1.... is there an alternative to the pricey watercolor crayons from SU? Very expensive to get them all....#2... I was browsing galleries here once and found some great looking cards that were not SU really...but...VERY BEAUTIFUL cards...I know many are beautiful...but these were VERY unique looking...metallic sheens, images of womens faces...totally cool...but now I can't find em....any suggestions? #3....I am interested in a few retired sets so so email me with your lists ladies if you can... and PLEASE...EMAIL ME @ [email protected] I never know how to find anything here....and this site freezes my puter EVERY TIME...ty for much for any help and HAPPY HOLIDAY to all
In excess of 150 SU sets, then 25 backgrounds too..... that does not include all my cardstock, ribbon, and other accessories from SU or the off brand stamps I own...
only 1 set & it's the SU! I'm Here stamp set. I am about to add the Rivieting set from my workshop that I earned. And I have probably about 10-12 sets I want to buy before my b-day in April.

If I count them now I just know I will fall into a deep depression. Way to much! This addiction just keeps going and going. Eeek! Like everyother addiction hide the true amount right? Or else how can it be an addiction? Let's just leave it at 100's. (She smiled to herself with satisfaction)

Many of you mentioned that you sold your retired sets. I am curious as to why one would sell retired sets. They are still great sets even though they have retired. LM :-)

They are great sets... but I tend to use my sets for just a couple months and then they sit there unloved. Since I'm a demo, I can't sell my current sets, so I just wait for them to retire. I get $$ for new stamps, and my old stamps go to a loving home! Win-win! I have had a few sets I hung onto for a year after they retired, but I found that I never picked them up in that year, so out they went.
Hmmm.....I only have like 10 sets from SU, but I would say I probably have around 100 or more sets from various companies, CTMH, TAC, Rainy City rubber stamps, TT, etc. I haven't really counted. I do have this storage: http://www.tldoneyphotography.com/stampstorage.jpg with a couple of sets still not mounted on foam, and then several sets from CTMH that are in CTMH storage. And of course this storage is only my unmounted stamps.
This is such a fun thread...I actually counted my SU sets last night as I scanned in my latest SU & Autumn Leaves I recently received...I have 141 SU sets (not including wheels & I have a ton of other stamps too). I've decided to store anything that I get from now on as UM. How in the heck do you ladies store all your stamps...especially the ones with 200+??? I store mine vertically...
I have 48 SU sets of stamps. I have been stamping 10 yrs., but have really gotten into it the past year since lurking around on this site. You folks are no good for me! But I love it and am learning so much. Thanks!
I refuse to be tricked into putting into writing how many sets I have. It could be used against me at some point in time. I'll just say this...not enough!

So very blessed and so very thankful.
God is good.
i have about 20 SU sets and wheels and about 20 no SU loose stamps that have not been touched since i started stampping with SU stamps and i have not bought any other brand since i became a demo.
At last count I had 155 sets of SU stamps (not including wheels). I have several sets that I have never used or haven't used in a LONG time. I'm going to make it a goal during 2007 to use ever set at least once so they will all feel loved.

I now have close to 125 sets +individual stamps. I buy from a few different companies so that includes all the companies. I realized yesterday that I don't have any birthday saying's sets though. I have ones that say Happy Birthday but none that are for the insides of cards. Oh darn! That means I have to get more stamps. ;)

I started stamping first, then both of my girls joined me, one becoming a SU demonstrator. One of my daughters lives with us. She's really addicted to having stamps, not so much to stamping! We recently did an inventory and organized the stamp room so we could actually FIND the stamps! We are pushing 300 SU sets, including backgrounds and not counting wheels. We have twelve large numbered containers and each container has stamps with a corresponding number. Sounds complicated but it works with our space. Now I just need to get busy and STAMP!

Yeah, I feel so much better reading this thread. I only have 70 sets :-) And a mere 20 or so loose stamps. I'm trying to stay with my current storage scheme, so it will be time to trade after my SAB order comes in.

Oh darn! I'm sure your demo feels soooo sorry for you! I know she'll help you find just the right sayings, too... Do I see a... birthday card coming for the next club meeting??
I think I have ~ 175 Stampin' Up sets (current & retired) & ~ 25 sets worth of non-SU sets / individual stamps). All of my retired & non-SU stamps are unmounted & stored in CD cases. Any current sets purchased since July this year are also in CD cases.

That's a great idea! I should resolve to do that with all of my close to 200? sets. I just have a photo box full of others. I'm afraid to branch out.
As far as storage goes, I need to figure something out! Actually, I need a stamp room! I don't sell any, and have bought some retired ones from my demo.
Just found this thread, and so I had to go count. I have often been asked this question but never knew the answer. I ended up having more than I realized (and WAY more than DH realizes, LOL). So far (my wish list is STILL so long) I have:
367 SU sets, 61 wheels, about 40 non-SU sets and approx 500-600 individual non-SU stamps. And to think the first time I picked up a rubber stamp was less than 3 years ago! This is quite an addiction. But I am loving every minute of it AND every stamp! Sell my retired ones? NO WAY! I bought them because I love them...so what if they are retired?!
Fun thread; thanks for starting it!
