Good morning,
Does anyone know where i could find copper tape, I am making christmas ornaments with microscope slides and needed the copper tape to hold the two slides together. Anyone have any ideas??
You can get the copper, silver. brass or gold tape at most crast stores in the fine art department. I got mine in Michaels, be forewarned that the copper is the most expensive, $7.49 compared to $4.99 for the others but it is worth it!
Some stores also carry it in the framing department too.
Good Luck
Barbara

My local michael's didn't have it. It is used most often with stained glass. I found mine at a stained glass store - many different widths. Yes, the copper is the most expensive.
You can use sticky tape - I have just covered with microbeads in the past.
If you have a stained glass store in your area you'll for certain find copper foil there. That is the art it was invented for. It comes in different color backings such as copper, silver or black so make sure you know what color you want if the back will show. If you're not adding solder I would suggest copper since that's the color the front will be.
I believe the widest width would be 3/8" unless a new product is on the market. I do stained glass but have never attempted the slides youre talking about so I don't know what width would be best for you. I cut my own glass for the pendants I have made. I'd take one to the store with you. You will also find copper foil on any stained glass site on the internet. Just to a search of stained glass. You might find a better price online.
