At a recent Stamp Camp at my uplines house we made an organdy bag stamped with hearts in real red CRAFT ink then we heat set it. My question is why didn't we just use the regular inks? I am having a Stamp Camp tomorrow (or should I say today) and I should know the answer, but I don't and I don't want to ruin an organdy bag to find out why, so is there anyone that can help me? TIA!
I think the organdy is kind of a "slipery" fabric and the ink probably will not adhere to the material (ie it will come off when it is touched). The craft ink is a permenant and heat setting prevents it from comming off. You can also use stazon ink and I do not think you have to heat set it. I hope this helps.
The Kraft pads work better on cloth---when heat set, the color will not run if water is placed on it (by accident or on purpose). Since the classic pads are water based, the color is not permanent.
Plus, as an added benefit, the colors will be more vibrant with the Kraft pads!
Cheryl, I'm sorry I can't help... is your upline not around to ask her why?
She is my 4th upline and by the time I thought about it it was already 1:30 am. My Camp starts at 9:00 and I don't want to bother her so early. Thank you so much for your help. I feel like I can answer the ladies questions now.
