Default Craft Shows

I'm going to be doing some local craft shows and was wondering if it would be better to leave the inside blank, or stamp a saying on the inside. I'd really appreciate some feedback, also what would be reasonable pricing? Thanks Synsee

You'll get countless different answers about how best to go about selling at craft fairs -- what to make, pricing, etc. -- because the answer will vary greatly depending on the demographics where you live. I recommend doing a forum search to see some of the past discussions, as this is a very frequent topic!

Default craft shows

I am in Buffalo NY...if I sell any cards at craft shows, they are 2.50 each or 5 for 10 and some/most are very detailed. That is about all people here will spend for them...they will however go to the store and buy one for 4.50..go figure...
I leave most of my insides blank. If I do have a sentiment on the inside, I stamp it on a label and put it on the outside of the bag. I do bring my sentiment stamps along, and if I am not busy and someone wants one stamped, I can do that., I sometimes also stamp them ahead of time on white and mount them on say black, brown, (colors I use alot) and have them mounted already, then people can choose some to add at a later time ( I have adhesive squares on the back already for them to stick in the card) I have to say, I do it more for fun than money, espically now where people are really not spending alot on "extras" just my experience here though. Good luck

For one thing, the cards at the store are larger -- some by as much as an inch or two in each direction. I know that seems silly, but my friends and I have discovered that while many people will not pay $3.00 for a "standard" quarter-sheet card, they'll gladly fork over that much for one that is closer to A6 size, or 4.5 inches by 6.25 inches. We make them 4.5x6 now (cut down from an original sheet size of 12x18 for the card base) and have seen our sales nearly triple even though the price hasn't changed!
