Default crystal effects clogs

I love my Crystal Effects, but I'm so tired of having to uscrew the tip and poke a piece of wire through it each time I go to use it. I always keep the cap on tight. I've tried storing it in a ziploc bag. Nothing seems to prevent clogs. Any ideas? :?

I just keep a straight pin in the bag with mine...I can't seem to find the cure either!

Default crystal effects clogs

I tried putting mine upside down in a small to medium sized glass candle holder i bought. I originally wanted to stamp on it, because it's triangle shaped, flat sided. Now there are marbles in it, I use it to hold pens, paint brushes , and my upside down crystal effects!! Just make sure the top is on tight!

I just keep a straight pin in mine when I'm not using it. And the pin has stuck inside the cap, so I never misplace the pin. My crystal effects is never clogged when I need it.

When you're done using it, wipe off the top, then squeeze some air out of the container. That will dislodge whatever goo is in the "snout". Then wipe off the top again. You should be good to go after that!

Just a quick warning: Be careful with the pin you use. With my first bottle, I used a needle that had slightly rusted and it colored the glaze! Now, it has a slight sepia tone to it. I bought a second bottle, which I use as dimensional glaze. I can always use the first bottle as regular adhesive, but I just thought I'd share so the same thing doesn't happen to you guys!

My upline taught us to put a rubberband around the bottle and she keeps a paperclip under the rubberband to unclog it. That way it is always attached and it is not sitting in the crystal effects.

I do the same thing, but I have a safety pin stuck in my rubberband.

When I'm done using Crystal effects I remove the top, use a "T" pin to scrape the extra back into the bottle and rinse the tip under hot water. It is water soluable and washes out in seconds, dry with a paper towel and replace on bottle and cap.
OR....... When you're done use the "T" pin to rotate around the inside of the applicator and the excess will drain down inside the bottle, pull out the pin and wipe off and replace the cap. Either way I never have a clog. I use the rubberband trick around the bottle too.
Happy Stampin!

I got gunk in mine from the pin I used as well! I like the upside down idea too.

I use a nice thick pin to unclog it...works GREAT. Love this stuff...use it especially when doing glitter...seems to hold it better than just glue.
