Default cutting Layout page protectors

I love hidden journaling and secret pockets, etc. on layouts...but I also like having my layout in a page protector.

I saw where you can cut the page protector to expose the part of the layout the you want people to access. Does anyone do this? And what tips do you have for cutting your page protector?

I've done this before. Put your page in your page protector. Use a wipe off marker to trace a line that you want cut. Take your page out and instert a self-healing cutting mat. If the lines are straight, use a metal ruler and exacto knife to cut along the outside of the lines. If the line is curvy, free-hand it with a swivel blade. Remember to leave one side closed if you want to leave a flap of page protector there. Pull out the self-healing mat and wipe off your lines.

Hope this works for you! Have fun!

I love that look too! I have done it twice now and have been very happy with the results. I put a mini book in mine and basically followed the above directions and then pulled the pages through the slit I made. I will try to post a picture today. I think it is a great way to incorporate more pictures for an event on one page!

You could also do the same thing as stated above except only cut a slit on one line (ex: if the hidden journaling flap flips up just cut a line along the top) the when you put your page back in the page protector feed the flap through the slit. This way only the flap will be exposed. My sister recently did this on a layout and it really looked great.

I use page protectors also and have seen this done both ways. It works great for me because I am just getting into hidden things on my pages.

I am mostly into heavy journaling and using stamps, stickers and embellishments and just the preserving of my photos. I do not really do them in the "scrapbook" style like alot of people do.

I do fun things on my pages and I even slip the 8X10 and 81/2X11 pages in next to my 12X12 when I need just a little more room. Really a cute look!

Try the suggestions above and have fun!

That's what I needed. I would love to see pictures!

I guess there is just something un-natural about cutting the protective sleeve...I'm having a hard time making that first cut! ha
