I have a few 'daubers' but find that the SU sponges are FAR cheaper and go further when cut into pieces. I cut 6 pieces out o each sponge and keep all the little pieces in a ABC Plastic SU case. I also have those little finger bandaids (kids call them finger condoms lol) that way I keep the ink off my fingers. I have never washed my daubers and would think that over time the glue would perhaps start to give with excessive washing. Anyhow, that's just my .02. Perhaps someone else has more ideas when it comes to the daubers! Good luck
Do the sponges give the same effect as the daubers? What you do makes much more sense and your right it's cheaper! I can spend more $$ on the important stuff, stamps
Thanks!
I have both, and find that they give different effects. The sponges tend to look a little softer than the daubers. That said, I like the effects of both and do use them. I don't wash my daubers, I just pounce the excess ink onto scrap paper, and use similar colors on the same dauber. You get quite a few in a pack.
BTW, I saw the SU sponges at Mike's/AC Moore in the area where they have the Donna Dewberry One Stroke painting supplies. They were cheaper. Good luck!

I love the daubers because my hands don't get as inky. I have one pack and have been able to make do with that for the last year. I just dab it off really good after I use it and then use like colors on the same dauber.
I would get one package of daubers from SU. I like having 12. I use mostly for chalks. As for the sponges, I use them more than I use the daubers. I cut mine into 12 quarters and they wear well and I regularly rinse them out.

I guess it all depends on what you are using them for. For chalks I use little mini cotton balls, found in the craft stores, with a chalk tool, also found there. I leave each little mini ball in the SU Chalk container with the chalk. Basically each chalk has it's own tiny ball in each space. As for Inking, I swear by the sponges. They go sooo much further! If you like to ink the edges of your paper then you will find that over time this tears the sponge, and in the end would ruin them, so the SU sponges are better than the daubers in that case beacuse they are cheaper to replace. I always say to each her own, get a few daubers from the craft store, and some sponges, and test them out before you splurge and buy up a bunch of daubers and see what YOU like the best. Good Luck either way
I have both and use the daubers much more. I seem to have difficulty getting enough ink on the spongue to notice it on my paper so I have to work harder for the same effect. I bought the sponges first then thought there had to be an easier way to get the effect. The daubers also fit into smaller areas when sponging on tiles.
I have both the sponges & daubers. I never thought I needed the daubers until I got them. I love using them & think they do a great job of adding ink right where you want it. For example in this card I used them to apply ink right to the stamp. I find the sponges work better when I want to add ink to the edges of the paper.
I only have one pack of daubers. I use each one for say yellow inks, red inks, etc... Then I rinse them after I use them. Doing it that way I have never had to worry about mixing colors.
