decorating scrapbook cover

Hi ladies! I have a question about the linen scrapbook. I would like to decorate the cover, but not sure about what type of ink to use, paper, embellishments, etc. I have been very hesitant to try because I don't want to ruin my album! Any suggestion or pictures would really help me feel more at ease!! Thanks!

I have used Staz-On with success. I cased the album on SU catty page 204 and love it.

I tried using SU's advice (posted a while back when the linen albums first came out) and used Glue Dots to adhere the metal components. NOT. Glue Dots will not work long term.

After a few months of frustration with the metal components lifting from the album I removed them (easily), cleaned the glue dots off and used E-6000. E-6000 is an industrial cement that takes hours (often 24) to cure completely, available at most major craft stores and home improvement stores. I recommend using a thin layer of adhesive for a good bond, applied with a cotton swab. HTH.

Thank you for the tip about the glue dots! I'll have to get more colors for the StazOn and dive in. I guess if I made a terrible mistake I could cover with the pretty new designer paper and acetate!

I've used SU craft ink and heat-set it. Depending on the color linen and the color ink, I'll use a stamp-a-ma-jig to re-stamp the image 2-3 times for richer color. It worked great!

I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard a lot of people use Crystal Effects to glue metal embellishments on.
