Default Demo Kit revealed

OK being as I am planning on becoming a demo after July 1st the most important thing to me in the catalog is the DEMO KIT...

It looks like

Heartfelt $28.95
Greetings Galore $28.95
Loads of Love $19.95
Quick thinking $12.95 (word set - 4 Better get better, I'm happy for you, Really, I like you, Too cute for words)
Much Appreciated $12.95 (Thank you word set - 4 much appreciated, thanks, Thank you, thank you very much - all in different font types)
Shape Up's $11.95

plus
2 packs of combo pack of any family
1 pack US white
6 stamp pads
stampin scrub
stampin mist
wheel
wheel handle
wheel cartridge
blender pens
Versamark
snail adhesive
Stampin Pastels
Craft and Rubber Scissors

so the stampin stuff alone is about $225 worth of stuff...then add in the business stuff and 8 cataloges and such...

The Stampin Memories is still the same only the suggested scrapbook is beige linen one...definately worth the $$$ ~$84 of stuff for $50

so it looks like they added in another stamp set & blender pens and took away the stampin sponges and the cello bags...

I am a little disappointed as to the price range of the stamp sets because you can substitute ones of equal or lesser value...the current demo kit has only 5 stamp sets but the price values were a little different (1 @29.95, 2 @ 24.95, 1 @19.95 and 1 @ 11.95)...(total value of stamps last year $112 vs this year $116) out of the suggested sets I really only like Loads of Love and Much appreciated...so now I have to find a substitute for the other price ranges...I wish one of them was 29.95 in this as there are about 3 sets I like at 29.95 but I won't be able to substitute those for the 28.95 set...there are a bunch I like in the $20-22 price range but if you are "alloted" $28.95 I feel I should get the most for my money...

THANK YOU for posting this info... I've been waiting on it and will probably continue to wait to see what the August Demo signup "special" is going to be.

GREAT BREAKDOWN, btw - thanks for doing the work!

OK I've been on vacation for a week so bear with me, have they annouced what the new demo special is yet for August?

Is the price still $199 for signing up to be a demo?

Thanks for breaking it all down and giving us some insight into the new kit.

Default Canadian Prices for Intro Kit

For my fellow Canadian demo-to-be's:

Greetings Galore: $41.95
Loads of Love: $28.95
Heartfelt Thanks: $41.95
Shape-Ups: $17.95
Much Appreciated: $18.95
Quick Thinking: $18.95

And, from my first round of thorough-drooling-over-the-pages glance at the new catty (which I got from my to-be-upline tonight!!! I'm soooo excited!!!), there's plenty at the same prices that can be substituted for these. Now the choices! Oh the choices!

Interesting to note SU must be doing different catalogs - because the one I have does not have Canadian prices in it at all...

August Demo special...What August Demo special?

So, does anyone know if there are still inspiration sheets included? Where does the scrappin' kit come in? Do you need the Scrapbooking upgrade to get that?
Thanks so much!

OK it looks like you get Heartfelt Thanks inspiration sheets with the demo kit...

Which BTW Heartfelt Thanks is growing on me - slowly.....

the simply scrappin comes in the Memories add-on and it looks like the suggested one is Polka-Dot Party (I think I will be choosing In Full Bloom, myself....)

They did this in last years catty as well. That's when they started it. All the minis are separate as well.

So does anyone know what the August demo special will be, or do they reveal that at Convention? TIA

August sign up special?? Anyone have more info? After a year of thinking of signing up, I think I'm finally going to do it.

Also, can you substitute stamp sets for some out of the mini catalog??

TIA!

Thanks for the break down b/c I was thinking about signing up to get a starter kit too. With substitutions. And I wanted to get that new set with the gumball machine. The set costs 29.95. So I'm in the same boat about the prices not matching up to switch. Rats. Wonder if they could just charge me an extra dollar.

I am pretty sure it ISN'T the starter kit. I think it has something to do with the kits they "create" in the front of the book!! They just put the starter kit on sale so doubt they would do that again!!

I would takeAll About U ($25.95) or maybe A Greeting for All Reasons ($28.95) or Tag Time ($26.95) in place of Greatings Galore, and Stpipple Stencils in place ot Quick Thinking (just don't care for this one).

I agree, they do make it hard to substitute. I wouldn't want Greetings Galore...especially in my starter kit.

Default August Kit Promo

This is what Stampin Up has said on their demo site about the August kit promotion:

We inadvertently referenced an upcoming US kit promotion in the July Stampin Success Dates to Remember. Please be aware the referenced promotion applies only to the US market; an equally exciting promotion is planned for the same time in Canada, but it is not a kit promotion. Well give you the full promotion details in the August Stampin Success. Were sorry, but your SAM or DS agent will not be able to give you further details before the August Stampin Success.

I don't know why they would do different promos for US and Canada.

I was looking at that too yesterday. There are two sets that are priced at 12.95 but there are not that many sets in the catalog that cost that much, that is a weird ammount. They are either 11.95 or higher, not 12.95. And I don't really care for Quick Thinking but I can't find anything for that price that I do really like.

Can you get a set from the summer mini? I would like to have Mixed Greetings for myself even though I couldn't demo it after August. I don't like either of the 12.95 sets in the kit. So I am already going to replace one 12.95 with a 11.95. If anyone knows if we can select a summer mini please let me know. My soon to be upline is out of town for the holiday weekend, but she left her new catty with me. : )

Do you think Heartfelt Thanks is too close to Watercolor Garden?

Okay... this is interesting... so does anyone know what promotion they "accidentally" referenced? This might answer our question re: whether it's an August Demo Starter Kit promotion or another type of kit that they're referring to.

Yup you can pick from any CURRENT mini too!! I think that Heartfelt thanks is still a keeper since it comes with the Inspiration sheets in the starter kit for it too

When does the August Stampin Success come out? I was going to sign up July 1st.. With my luck, if I sign up now I'll miss out on something wonderful. I'm willing to wait a month.

I just pulled out my calculator because I thought the product was valued at more than $225. It is actually valued at $263.85 which is $40 more than mentioned above. You also get ALL the business supplies on top of this. What a great value.

As for my advice. I would sign in July while you are still excited. Stampin' Up! has not said what kind of kit promotion it will be. I was on the phone with my SAM today and he said that even they do not know what it will be yet or what they are in reference to. The way I look at it is this..... sign up now and then IF it is a Starter Kit promo in August you get to sign up your own recruits for the deal. Get your group started and start making more money for your free stamps!!
