Default Demo sign-up incentives????

I am wanting to sign up to be a demo and was wondering if there was an optimum time period to sign up? Someone was telling me that they offer incentives in certain months. Does anyone have any info? Thanks so much.

Right now there aren't any through Stampin' Up! They just came out with new Starter Kit options that are awesome, though.

At different times of the year, they do offer different things. Sometimes it's a discount. Sometimes it's a free stamp set (usually of their choosing). When I signed it was a portfolio book.

Demos never know what the incentive is going to be until it takes affect.

Now, what you may want to do is ask your potential upline if she has any special offers. I bought mine a Cropper Hopper and some supplies I thought she should have when she started...and that's what my upline had done for me.

Usually, there is a special incentive to sign up during Sellabration (Jan & Feb). And then during the spring there is often another. Usually this is comprised of an extra stamp set in your kit.

Last year, they offered 15% off the kit in August to celebrate the 15th anniversary, but that was a special deal last year.

This year, the kit is better and bigger than ever before! They've added product to the kit and only added $4 to the price. Plus you've got the add-on memories option for $50, then in your first demo year you will be able to buy a business booster kit that is a real deal! AND you get a newsletter for new demos that was not available when I signed up!

I would join now, frankly. It's a good time, since people are still excited about the new catalog, the holidays are coming up, then you have Sellabration following that. A good wave to ride into the next year!

I just joined in July. The new demo kit is a good deal, the scrapping kit was a good deal, and frankly, I wanted to start taking advantage of that 20% discount. Someday I hope to actually start having workshops, but right now I am too busy buying stuff for myself.

I am so glad I signed up now. Just take the plunge. You won't regret it.

I am with Jan.....better now then later!! The catty is still fresh and you are still excited about it!

I offer people my own incentives.......I too think it will be sellebration B4 you will see anything offered by SU! Then it will be another free set. But if you get going now you can earn more than that.......a lot of demos earned multiple sets last sellabration!

Ask your demo if she has any joining incentives........post more questions here, and pm those ladies who you think might have great advice for you......there are some pretty neat ladies on this board!

I'm with the others...join now. If you wait until the new year for the SAB incentive (get two SAB sets with your kit), then you won't have your supplies in time to take full advantage of SAB. Fall is a great time to start. Go for it!

Default Can't agree more!!

Randi,

You should sign up as soon as you can! It's NEVER too soon!

Lots of demos offer special incentives to their potential recruits. Maybe your local demo would be willing to do the same!? Never hurts to ask. Often Stampin' Up! has extra incentives for new recruits, like those before me have mentioned. Since one of of the Stampin' Up! goals for the 2004/05 year is to help current demos aquire more recruits, I would expect there to be at least one more incentive event before Sell-a-bration time (Jan/Feb 05), but we just don't know until they are announced!

I personally offer my new recruits $40 off their starter kit which is already a HUGE deal! In addition to that, I offer my new recruits a free stamp set (valued at $28.95) of their choice when they reach $1000 in sales.

You should also know about the Stampin' Start offer. Stampin' Up! gives you TWO free sets (no maximum value) when you reach $1500 in sales within your first 3 active months. So if you joined ANY time in September, you'd have until the end of December to make the $1500 in sales to earn 2 free sets. They also offer the same deal if you have YOUR first recruit within the same time period. SO, you can earn FOUR free sets...absolutely free within your first 3 months. They aslo have a first hostess order special where you get a 30% discount on your first order of at least $150. That means on a $150 order you make $45 instantly. MANY new demos, myself included, used this benefit to supplement the items that came with my starter kit. This got me off to a GREAT start!

Randi, if you have any other questions...I'd be happy to answer them for you. I have 2 new recruits too that would be more than thrilled to help you out with your decision.

By the way, I LOVE Collinsville!! We stopped there in July on our way to Missouri and it is lovely. We have to go back soon because we missed the World's Biggest Ketchup Bottle...and my husband LOVES ketchup!

Take care and welcome aboard!

Thank you all for your great advice. There is nothing better than posting a question, going to bed and waking up with great advice. Thank you all for such great advice.
Stamperdoodle - I can't believe that you come here for the Ketchup Bottle. I crack up everytime I see someone taking pictures in front of it. Now we have a whole festival to celebrate it.
I am meeting with my future upline tonight and talking out details. I just wanted to find out what the going incentive was.
Have a great day!
