This kind of goes along with my earlier post about reselling sets from the Minis. I would like to know how demos out there feel about purchasing sets from the Minis? I'm not a demo, but I would think it would be a toss up as to what to purchase if there is the possibility that you can only demo it for 3 months, not knowing for a while if it will make the catty. I don't know what I would do if I was a demo... buy stuff that I know will be around for at least a year (in the catty) or take a chance on Mini sets that I might only be able to use for a few months and not be able to resell them for a while. I could see it either way, just wondering what demos do.

I buy what I like. Just because I can't 'demo' it after a year, doesn't mean I don't want it. If I like a set, I like it because I want to use it...not just for demos. That's the part of doing what you love!

I buy what I like too -always, no matter how long it may be here or may not be here.
To answer your question, I think I can safely say I buy at least one set from each mini. Or something - like I did just get speciality papers one time. And when some new accessories came out in mini's - I do get those b.c 9 times out of 10 they will be in the catty.
Me, too. :-) I buy what I like. Mini catalog sets always hold their value, it seems like. So even if you decide to sell it later, it's a good investment.
I can only afford to get a few, so I pick the ones I really like. If I get lucky and the ones I ordered are among the small handful to make a reappearance that's great, but if not and they officially retire I'll still hold onto my favorites for my own personal use.

I buy what i like, but I try not to go overboard. I try to just get a couple sets from each mini. Also if I've had a set for a few months and haven't used it, I trade it.
I buy what I like, and many times it is almost the whole Mini! Especially the last couple!! And I have already ordered just about everything in the Holiday Mini. The Ribbon holders are awesome!
Depends on the mini ...
Sometimes (last year, winter mini) I only buy one set, 'cos that's all that jumps out at me. I always try to buy at least one set from the mini.
Then, there was the Spring Mini - where I bought far too much!! Fortunately a lot of it made it into the catalogue. Some of the sets that didn't I sold after July 1, others I'm keeping because I like them (or my dd likes them) and I want to use them for myself.
I bought A Light Heart because I like it, and it will provide a contribution to a good cause. I'll only be demoing it for 6 weeks, but I'll use it for my own stuff long after ...
So, to answer your question ... sometimes and maybe! ;)
My sister and I demo together and we scrap, so if there's sets that we like and know we'll be using in our scrapbooks too, then we definately get them. In the Holiday Mini we just spent $165, but that was the ribbon holders, ribbon, paper and quite a few sets, but we totally love the Halloween sets.
That bat reminds us of the old cartoon when the vampire would turn into the bat and fly into walls and slide to the ground.
Anyway, we get what we like..........and for this last year 90% of what we purchased from the minis ended up in the catty so we're very fortunate.
Sometimes. I have to fall in love with the set though, because I only demo it and use it while the mini is current. So usually I just demo the heck out of it! Then pray that it makes it into the next years catty.
