Spoke to DH about becoming a demo and it was almost scary how easily he said yes. It was like telling him I was going to brush my teeth or something. lol
He didn't question me about minimums or bat an eye when I mentioned Schedule C for taxes. I'd been mulling over how to talk to him about this, preparing to be grilled and it was so easy. But he knows I wouldn't consider something like this w/o fully researching everything.
His only comment was that I'm not really a salesperson, which is true.
Will talk to my demo next week. For now, the plan is to do this for the discount.
Wahoo! This is such exciting news. Don't worry about being a salesperson...all you will need to be is positive & upbeat about the products, and you will do great! Let us know when you sign the paperwork.
I did the same and I think my dh was secretly happy that all this would cost less and didn't even think about the other stuff. The only thing he has ever done for taxes has been to sign his name. Congratulations you and I will be starting about the same time. I am a little worried about meeting quotas too but hey what is the worst that can happen, I'll fail, at least I will have given it my best shot.
Congratulations! I have to say - I am not a demo - but I do see that SU sales itself! All you have to do is be able to demo... - my favorite thing to do is go to a workshop/class where I can just sit down and copy what she has already done! Best of luck!

I wish my husband had reacted like that. He is usually pretty easy going but about this, he wants me to set goals, meet minimums, not use it just to feed my own habit, etc.... So now I am stuck in limbo trying to decide what to do. Sigh...

Do it, do it, do it! Even if it's just for the initial perks of signing up! I sent my papers away on Tuesday and they are already in Calgary! Now I will be ITCHING for them to fill my kit order! I am hoping to really make a go of being a demo, but we'll see - take it one party at a time and who knows. The fantastic thing is that there is no penalty for not meeting your quarterly quotas!

That's exactly how my DH reacted! And he even said the same thing about me not being a salesperson... and he's right. Years ago, I sold Creative Memories. I was great with helping people, but I lost money keeping all that inventory that people didn't buy as fast as I needed to meet my quota. Needless to say, I'm worried about quotas. At least I wouldn't have to keep inventory. I'm still on the fence, but now I know DH approves.
It's funny that some of the DH's react with the shrug and "okay". I thought for sure that was how mine was going to react. To my surprise, he didn't say okay until I told him about the discount.
My paperwork is filled out and ready to be mailed on Monday.
I'm nervous, but I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope we all enjoy what is coming!
And those who think they aren't good salespeople usually make the best ones!

Congrats to all of you. I have been debating it for years and finally decided to do it. I handle all the finances, so DH didn't really care. I do worry about the quotas just because I would prefer being more of a hobby demo and offer discounts to a few close friends just so I don't have to spend all the money. My demo is on vacation until next Wednesday, so sometime after that I'll have the paperwork sent it. I already asked a few people about attending a workshop and then I'm planning a Christmas in September party. Woohoo!

I don't have a DH but after long self-debate I sent in my paperwork to be a demo and my upline emailed me today that SU has me listed as a new recruit! I have been furiously working on my charts all day (so haven't had time to stamp) and can't wait for my kit to come!
