I always think other peoples cards are better than mine!!:(
Somedays I feel like I have no imagination.
I sometimes start out thinking I'm going to CASE a card, and before I know it, it loooks nothing like the original card.
That makes me feel good, like,
"Hey, I actually thought of something on my own!"
I love looking at others work for inspiration!!

I always think other peoples cards are better than mine!!:(
I always KNOW other people's cards are better than mine!!! ;)
I try to not get to down on myself though, and this is why:
I'm learning. Constantly. When I look back at the first couple of cards in my gallery, (it's easy to look back, my gallery is small as I case a lot, rather than come up with my own), I think to myself, "Wow, you've come a long way girl!".
Seriously, those first cards make me laugh, whereas more recent cards make me think "Hmmmm, I'm getting better!".
Those of you that are feeling this way, rather than comparing your work to the work of others in the gallery, (who may have been doing this for way longer, or may have more time to spend doing it, or who may even have an art degree), compare it to your first cards instead. I can almost promise you'll feel better about yourselves!
Besides, I've seen both of your galleries, and there is some absolutely lovely stuff there!
Every time I sit at my table to work. No matter how *I* feel about my creation, it always pales in comparison to what others are doing. Oh, well. ~ kbc

You know what..... they all had to start somewhere. If it inspired you then go ahead and copy a card or two. That will really help give you confidence to branch out on your own. You can do it!!!!! MANY of my stamping friends who are so super talented in the industry started with very basic cards. I wish I would have kept my first cards. I kind of have veered back to the basics these days anyway.
No. I honestly never think that. I am slightly bummed that I don't think of the coolest original IDEA first, but as for being able to copy something I see, ok. I often copy things making changes to suit myself. In fact I love the challenge of trying to copy something. My personal style is stuff that I see in Stampington. I like lots of collage and vintage stuff. Interesting how different minds work eh?

Do you ever look at the gallery and wish you could make cards just as wonderful as the ones you see?
Hmmmmm. Honestly, the first thing that usually pops into my head when I notice something striking is: WOW! That's cool! I wanna try that!
Unless it's messy. I don't like messy stuff much nowadays . . .

But think, I can't do that, I don't have the time to spend, what colors to start with, etc.... I know I am not the only one that does this...
I've come full circle in the most recent of my 14 years of stamping . . . back to basics and am really enjoying myself even more, focusing on the impact of a strong, clean design, more than anything else . . .
I feel like I'm finally beginning to develop a sense of my own style and I really like it!
What I find fascinating NOW, is that there is so much more information, and an abundance of wide-ranging product available to people who are just starting out--you will explore and progress in whatever direction you choose/like at a much more rapid pace starting now, than those of us who began years ago! That's exciting!

I used to love to get the latest and greatest toy and product, but I found myself going back to the tried and true. I still look for something new but its more about technique and design. Not so much products and tools.
Besides, I've seen both of your galleries, and there is some absolutely lovely stuff there!
