Besides 24 hour road trips to Miami and your team losing...
Passing thru one of the many states and in the middle of the night seeing a large billboard that advertises a huge and wonderful stamping store. It was like an oasis. Stopping was not even an option with five football obsessed fans.
VACUUMS SUCK.... mine sucks really good...never a speck of dirt left on my carpet.
ha ha he he....couldn't resist!
Anyway....that sounds like something that would happen to me! OH DARN! Maybe it would be worth it for you take another 24 hour trip....only this time for a BETTER reason!
I wonder if that is the billboard my mom saw not too long ago.
She called me from the road and it actually turned out to be more of a website. I'll have to wrack my brain to see if I can remember the name of it......
Seriously what stamping/scrapbooking store has a billboard?
Scrapbook Memories in Chelsea, Michigan! It's about 15miles from my house. It used to be the largest scrapbook store in the nation. It's the size of the old Arbor Drug stores! It's huge and wonderful.
Dang, Mary! I keep meaning to get to that place and I haven't yet! Maybe we should meet there?
Did you say "SHOPPING?" -- Oh, I have a gift card too!
They're open 'til 11pm tonight!.... I can be there in a few minutes!
My downline and my cousin work there. Next week they have different specials each day. Checkout their website and look at the newletter for the different specials. The place is addicting.

Double whammy ouch!! Missing the store and dealing with the losing Dolphins..... I'm a Dolphins fan and I know if I had to witness them losing I'd at least want to soothe the loss with some retail therapy - especially at a stamping/scrapbook store!!
When we traveled cross country, I saw a sign for a 5000sq foot scrapbooking/craft store-DH said we gotta make some time Talk about being ticked! All my stuff was packed and wouln't see for atleast 2 months, all I wanted to do was look..... ...and buy.....
come to think of it, I think it was in Missouri somewhere-central maybe
WoW    I am so glad they are not near me, I would be in trouble. Did you see all the tables in their crop room? My store only has about 4.
Wichita, KS has a store called Scrapbook Garden and they have all kinds of billboards around town. It's funny because in Wichita, there is an East and a West side of town--their like mirror images of each other. Everything that is on one side, will most likely be on the other. Anyway, they have an East and West location.
ooh ooh, there are a couple of great scrap/stamp stores in mid-Missouri... specifically columbia (if you were on I-70) or jefferson city (if you were on hwy 63). pretty sure there are some great billboards advertising the BIG one in columbia called I'd Rather Be Stamping. it's on my list of errands to run/places to visit while i'm in columbia tomorrow!
i'll think of you all while i'm there and wish you were too!
TurboKel - Let me save you a trip. I'd Rather Be Stamping in Columbia, Missouri went out of business several months ago. I really miss that place too!!
For those of you talking about the big scrapbook store in Chelsea, MI you should see the Scrapbook Peddler in Saginaw. I was there last night for a crop and couldn't believe the new stuff they had. This store carries the best supply of different papers and layout ideas that I have ever seen in a store.
Lizzybee -- just make sure you're driving next time!! Then you could pull over to the closest motel, sleep a few hours then head to the stamping store. Of course, you tuck the keys between your legs so the football crazies wouldn't date try to take them from you
My WMWH knows I have been wanting to shop at a Hobby Lobby for a LONG time now! The only one in FL is 8 hours from us. We passed one in Indianapolis on the way to my parents in South Bend, IN, but we couldn't stop. He told me on the way home, we would take TWO days to drive and we could stop there for me, I was so excited! Then, when we got to South Bend, I discovered they have a Hobby Lobby in the next town over! He took me - twice - and I was so happy to have the time to look around there for a while! It was right next to a JoAnn store, too, but I didn't look there at all. I have one of THOSE right down the street here at home! Anyway, on the trip home, he still wanted to stop so I could check out another Hobby Lobby along the way, but I told him I had spent enough money. I thought it was sweet that he was still willing!!
When we were still in planning stages to move to Tampa, one of the first things I looked up online was stamp stores. I found Tampa Stamp, and was thrilled to have such a big store near our new location! Then, after I got here, they closed. Talk about your major bummer.....
Stopping and shopping along our road trips is one of the things that make it fun for us all...I would LOVE to visit a stamp store big enough to have a billboard advertising it!

I'm realizing just how lucky I am. My husband doesn't mind stopping at all the craft and doo-dads stores whenever we are traveling. Sometimes he evens mentions that there has to be a craft store in this town! (I think he secretly likes to see me shop!...)
There still is a Stamp Store in Columbia...I used to work there when I was in college but it got bought out after I graduated. It used to be called the Memory Nook. I don't know what it is called now but I believe it is off of Nifong...I could find out if someone is interested. My cousin still goes there frequently...
