I love knowing what people say and think about my "stuff". I'm a visual person, and I like to know what other people like to look at too... I spend a lot of time browsing the galleries to see what kinds of designs get the most "hits". There's a LOTTTTTTA flower lovers here, I'll tell ya...;)
Yes, how else would I feel validated??? Plus, I honestly love to see that someone liked my work enough to comment on it. Makes my day every time!
Another EXACTLY from me!!!! I had no idea there were people who didn't want gallery notification.
I recently found out that the notification had been turned off on all of my older gallery pages - must have happened in the upgrades. I just about hyperventilated. LOL! The thought of missing a comment - oh my!!!! I started going one by one and turning them all back on. Which reminds me I never finished doing that.
I have wondered though, if it's possible to have the comment included in the notification email, like it is when notifications to subscribed-to forums are sent.
Maybe? Possibly?
I love comments!! I love giving them and getting them! Sometimes (like when I'm at work) I can't always open up the gallery right away to see what someone posted, so those are the times that the notifications are really just a tease!
It would make me pleased as PUNCH to be able to read the comment that was posted right in the email notification, without having to open the gallery every time.
...oh, and let me rephrase "when I'm at work" to, "when I WAS at work", since I was laid off 2 weeks ago. I love all this extra lady-o'-leisure time I've come by because of it! <grin!>
No, My stuff isn't good enough to comment on. ROFLMBO! O.k soooo just kidding. No seriously, I don't get the notifications but I do check my gallery to see if anyone has commented.

I've thought about it, but I really need to get off the computer and clean house once in a while, ya know? ; ) I'm already on email and SCS so much! It is nice to see a nice comment on something you've done, though. I don't upload as much as I'd like to. Perhaps over the holiday break, I can upload some more!

I would get them if anyone commented *sniff sniff*.............. oh wait, you actually have to UPLOAD pics into your gallery?????? Well, that's a horse of a different color now!!!!!!!!!!
Well, since I just started my gallery and only have one thing in there so far - YES! Maybe when it all becomes old hat I wont want notification, but I sure do now. I'm just excited to get hits at this point.

I uploaded a few pic's just before my puter crashed ( my first time for uploading pic's here) I said what the heck I will try and. I was so shocked to have my emails box start spitting out emails from you ladies commenting. I really didn't think my work was worth the comments yet! So thank you ladies it made my day! Now it is to bad I lost all my work I was just starting to upload here. I am now trying to do it again and I can't get my scanner or camera to work on the puter :confused:

I love getting the email notifications, it makes my day! Okay, I'm easily pleased! And I can answer questions right away.
Geez! I never thought that people wouldn't do this, I've left messages of thanks for RAKs this way, I do hope they saw them.
For those that don't have your gallery linked in your signature, DO IT PLEASE! I often just pick a name and go cruise their gallery for ideas and leave comments. But I find it a pain to cut and paste into the members gallery to find them.

That would make my day! One reason I want that option is that every time I go in to check the comment, the "views" goes up. I like seeing how many peopled viewed it too (taking time to look at it from the thumbnail makes me happy too -- but then I need lots of validation ).

Rox -- this is now an option from the drop down menu when you click the username! I love that feature!!!

OK, I didn't know that gallery notification was turned off during the switch. I may have to go through mine too...maybe not, but I do love the notifications

It happened during the last galley upgrade in the Spring too! I asked at that time and was told that going through one by one to turn them back on was the only way. But if there is an easier way I would LOVE to hear it!!!! It was weird because my 2 most current pages were fine, but everything older was turned off - and I had comments in there I had missed *gasp*

Do you find that you start *needing* the affirmations? You start checking your gallery more and more often? You experience withdrawal if your new uploads don't get comments . . . at least not right away?
Thanks to your comments here today, I discovered that the notifications had been turned off on my earlier submissions! So, I was able to go back and find some atta-girls I didn't know were there. Ahhhhhh . . .

I agree! No one says awesome job on the laundry and thanks for cleaning the toilets and thanks for the milk and burping me mom! A lot of times, SAHM only hear about what is NOT getting done. I have tried to make a little me time for 15 minutes of stamping each day...I feel great that I have used my creativity, love looking at my creation, have actually accomplished something that will last longer than the next meal and the comments really make my day.
I start off with email notification when I upload, then after a month or so I unsubscribe to photo notifications....I get too many emails. Usually if someone has a question about one of my cards they usually send me a pm ;)
I will say that I am obsessed w/ checking for new comments myself - esp. on those cards that I really am happy with... but I don't do notifications - I just go in and check - again - and again - and again!
I love getting comments, but I don't have the notification with my email. Every once in awhile, I sort by last comment. It's always a pleasant surprise when I get a comment on an older card or scrapbook page!
Jovi and ken70 ~ Thanks for your ideas (unsubscribing after a period of time and sorting by last comment). I mean, it could save me from someone staging an intervention!!
I sorted by last comment, last month and one of the cards I know that got a comment Dec. 12th wasn't listed (my very first upload). So am I doing something wrong? There were still two blank squares on the page so there was no page two.
Thanks on the tip that the gallery email notification was turned off, I went back to check and I had comments I didn't know were there. Like Jami said it wasn't all the pages, mine went back to August and after that date they were still on.
I do, but only on some. The first few cards I posted have this option. I go back and check the others whenever I receive a notice on one of the first cards.

Same here -- I LOVE feeling validated and getting those emails!! The comment in the email sounds like a great idea, if that's doable. But I had no idea some of the older notifications were bumped off because of the upgrades . . . hyperventilating here, too . . . better go check my gallery!! Thanks, Jami!
You do all realize that when you get an email notification about a thread you've subscribed or posted to that what you read may not be the only post that has been made since you last visited the thread. It does tell you this right on the email. So to know for sure if one or twenty people posted you still have to visit the site. Just so you know.
