Default Do you think "Shapes and Shadows" is a must-have?

I really like Shapes and Shadows, but I"m wondering if I missed the boat by not getting it before Christmas. It seems that 2 of the 4 images are Christmas-y, what with the snowflake and the tree.

Do you think it would be a good investment, given the time of year we're in now??

I'm placing an order today - gotta spend that Christmas money! <G>

Default same dilema

I don't know what to tell you, I have been debating about it for as long as it has been around. I really liked it and it was on all my wishlists for awhile, but I haven't seen as many samples of it in the gallery lately, and have sort of lost my excitement for it. However, it is brand new in the catalog, right?, so it should be around for awhile. If you really like it, buy it and you could use it next Christmas. It will be here before we know it. You could use it to stamp Christmas cards in July!
Good luck with you decision.

I personally happen to LOVE LOVE LOVE Shapes and Shadows. When I first got it I didn't think I would use it much, but it really has a lot of possibilities. The butterfly, flower, leaf and snowflake can be used anytime. Granted, the tree is more Christmas, but you can use that from September through December. That means that there are WAY more possibilities for this set than just Christmas! I say GO for it!

When SU! offered it for preorder, I almost didn't get it. It just didn't thrill me.

But at the last minute, I threw it on my order anyway. Oh, boy, I have sure had some fun with this set! Even more than the other ones that were on the same order!!! I say, go for it! The butterfly and flower are wonderful for spring and summer cards. The leaf is good for both summer and fall. I love it! Go for it!

I haven't gotten this set ...yet( it's in my starter kit) but from what I've seen posted in the gallery every card looks awesome. I think you can get alot of use out of the flower and butterfly til winter cmes around again. That is another reason I like this set, it has possibilities all year long.

My other thoughts are to think about what stamps you have and which do you feel drawn to and find yourself most creative with. I love 2 step stamping but others may just hate it. Watercoloring comes in at a close 2nd for me so those are the stamps I tend to buy.

The thing that I love about this set is that there is no coloring involved...yet if you wanted to you could color the "shapes" part...I don't have it yet but if I ever get it I am sure it will be fun!

I had this set for several months before I even mounted it. I just couldn't get inspired to use it. It looks pretty blah in the box, unmounted, if you know what I mean.
BUT, I love the trapezoid box on page 3 of the current catalog, so I mounted it to do that box for my daughter's birthday. It turned out so awesome that I made her a whole set, with altoid tin, candle, desk set, etc using this set. Now it's one of my *all time favorites*!
I made an awesome Christmas card with the tree, casing one from SCS, and I've got to tell you, this set has more possibilities than you can even imagine.
YES!!! You've got to get it!!
 Alicia

PS. I just ordered the Twinkle Wheel from the Winter Mini just to use with this set. It matches the little star thingies from this set, which I love!

hmmm maybe I need to put this on my list for my 30% off order I put in. I think I am putting in a hostess order first so that I have "supplies" to do a few demonstrations before I put in a big order though

Default Go for it!

I actually just purchased this set. I think there are customers out there who look at the set and thinK "Yeah, it's cool, but I don't want to spend $30 on it." However, when I did a set sampler for it at my last party, someone ordered it. Granted it was only one customer, but I figure it's still a good sell. I think that this set is really easy to sell and its fun. Plus, you can give Inspiration Sheets to those who buy it. Look through your Stampin' Success mags for awesome ideas year round. My next goal is to tackle some of those gorgeous samples that you see in the front pages of the catty.
For a fleeting moment, I felt the same way as you about the snowflake and tree. However, I am determined (once I get my set) to make a masculine card from the tree. This would be perfect for scrapbooking or countryish cards. We'll see what happens!

When I saw Shapes and Shadows in the new catty in July, it was the first new set I ordered! I HAD to have it! And once I got it home, I have played with it ever since. It's definately one of my most favorite sets!!!

I don't have this set yet but it is on my wish list. I'm always drawn to cards in the gallery that have used this set. I love the retro feel of it and I believe the retro trend is here to stay (for a while anyway )

I'm hoping to earn this set during SAB. I think it will be fun to demo the flower and butterfly this spring.

I guess my vote is to get it!
