Default Does anyone else do this, or do I have a problem

I have to know if anyone else does this. Do you ever go into a Scrapbook store or online store and buy the paper because it is pretty or cute, then go and try to take a picture that would look good on the paper you already bought? I have stacks of paper, with no picture's to put on it, I just love buying the paper. Let me know. :???:

I am in Myrtle Beach right now and I just went to two scrapbook stores and bought about 20 pieces of paper just b/c I liked them. I think I will have to take lots of pics that will match!! lol

I have a girlfriend who did this! She bought the cutest paper then dressed her dd to match and took pictures!

Me? I apparently buy the paper I like and don't worry about using it! If you use it then it's not sitting there looking pretty anymore. I seem to be more of a collector than a user!

I used to do that ALL the time! Now I too have piles and piles of unused and in some cases unwanted paper. Now I try really really hard to have my pics in hand when I go shopping. Of course I always buy a couple of extra sheets while I'm there, but at least I use more of the paper I buy now.

Always! That's all I ever do. I know I have all my SU! 12 x 12 CS at home and I look for things to dress it up.

Last time I went to a crop night I spent more time shopping for papers to go with my pictures because I just couldn't make ANY layouts work. Best that stay home, save the $20 I spent and use what I have. ;) I have PLENTY!

Such a shop-a-holic. But at 50 cents a page, who can resist?!

I have a friend that does this all the time!

I dont' scrap (except for I'm just now learning digital scrapping! WOW! FUN!)But, I'd be more likely to convert the photo to black and white, and then use the paper without worry on matching, UKWIM? My kids would never humor me by dressing to match the paper . . . LOL!

I'm with you! I've bought pp, especially in the early days, and now I can't find a use for it. I find it's great for layering on cards that I send to children and non-stampers.

Oh yeah, and I try to off-load it onto the kids for their scrapbooking but they only want the new and cool stuff at my LSS.

LOL! I don't do that... but I do spend hours staring at pp at my LSS to buy just the right one. Of course I end up like you using in cards anyway.

Yep. Sure do. If I can, I'll try to buy with pictures I have already in mind. If I can't, I buy it and know that I can turn my photos into b&w. This hobby has sure come a long way.

I spent $27.00 on paper just for my ZBB purse! I have a drawer full of paper that I think is wonderful and I have not even started scrabbooking!

I used to be the same way with fabric. I would see the most adorable fabric and I would purchase a few yards just in case!

I thought that was how you were supposed to do it? You mean I have other options?? How about that, you learn something every day ...

I do this too. You never know when you might have the right picture for your paper. I cut up several sheets of pink and green stripes, flowers, etc. for my DD to mat the photos she put on her science fair project board. Those thermometers and cups of antifreeze looked beautiful on that paper! I didn't even care because I have hundreds more where that came from.

There's another thread where people are talking about how much scrapbooking paper they have. Their answers are in inches!
