Default double hole punch-is mine defective?

For those of you who have it, does it go thru two peices of cardstock?
Mine will not, just want to know if this is the norm or not.

Default double whole

Mine doesn't, but why should it? Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it was intended to go through two layers.

I was wondering the same thing... I was trying to put holes through 2 layers so I could add a ribbon yesterday and could not make it work. I just think it's odd that SU would sell a punch that wouldn't punch through 2 layers. Don't the other punches all do that?

No- mine doesn't go through two pieces... I found this out when I did a card in which I had a couple layers already glued together and then put on the ribbon.

I've never had ANY punch in any brand that would go through 2 layers of c/s easily . . . I've learned to punch the first layer, then overlay and realign it to the 2nd, and punch again. Just easier on my hands/arm, and less risk of marring the paper from forcing something that won't work.

I even saw a sign at the scrapbook shop, stating that decorative punches were only meant for text weight and not card stock! Wow, who would buy them if that was the case. They must just have been covering their butts.

I have not tried two pieces of cardstock but mine did go through vellum CS and the silver CS with no problems.

I don't think any of my paper shaper punches (which are so very very similar to our double punch) would go through 2 sheets of cardstock..

I did try to see if I could punch through a couple layers with my punch when I first got it but being that it was hard to even get more than one layer into the punch I abandoned the effort.

speaking of punches.. I love the slot punch - don't have it yet but played with my uplines, But after playing with it we decided we also need another slot punch with that slot going in the opposite direction! there were some ideas we had for the punch that won't work the way this slot one is going.. but anyways.. I am rambling now...

Default two hole punch

Mine won't go throught 2 pieces either. Tried using it for a sourcream container. Used my crafters tool kit with the anywhere punch and template instead.

My Fiskars does...in fact I used the 1/16th this morning on an apron card through 2 and 3 layers without a problem.

Ok, I just got off my hiney and tried it and mine DID go through 2 sheets and it wasn't that hard... I usually just do mine one layer at a time then put the card (or whatever) together at the end....
