I recently placed an order at a party and bought "Warm Words". Then I started looking at the words and decided it's not really my style. Soo... now I'm looking at sending it back. Gasp! For me, it would be kind of a hassle because I am overseas.
What do you think, should I just keep it or send it back. I'm so undecided. I just hate to be stuck with something that I might not use that often. I looked in the WW gallery and I could go either way really. This is the first time I've been so undecisive about a stamp set.
How do you make your stamping purchase decisions?

Wouldn't the postage cost a fortune to return it overseas? I'd suggest that you keep it and see how you can work with it. I've done that several times... bought a set and then decided I really didn't like it. I've either traded with a friend or just kept it. I still have sets that I bought from CTMH about five years ago that I've NEVER used. I liked the examples in the catalog but haven't tried it myself.
I really like mine although I've only used a few of the words. Why don't you try it out and if you really don't use it...sell it used to someone who wants it.
You could always try the buy sell trade forum on here as well. This has happened to me before too. I bought the Rough Edge alphabet then when I got it and realized I would have to cut out each of those letters. I decided I didn't really want to mess with it or having to line the letters up to stamp. So I traded it.
I totally hear ya on Warm Words. It was the first et I ordered out of the new catty and had major buyers remorese - at first! I now use, although not as much as many others. I've found "sparkle" to be fun anytime I've used glitter or embossing. Maybe it will grow on you, if not, trade it away!
Diana,
I really like the set and although I felt the same while I was mounting it, I have found that I use it a lot! Not all the words yet, but some like sparkle, giggle, welcome, wonderful, adorable. I am sure I will use be merry this holiday season, so the set has been owrth it to me.
I have had that same buyers remorse with some sets/products. I usually have something in mind when I put it on the order, so I just make sure to try out my idea (or case the idea from here that made me want to buy it) and then I fall in love all over again.
I bought mod alphabet. Why did I do that? I don't really get it as it sits on my desk. I bought a couple of sets last year that I couldn't ever make a good card with, so I just traded them. I would try to trade your set if you don't use it - I think it is pretty popular.
Thank you all for your responses. I'm glad I'm not the only one. I just picked it up today and will have to look at it and the gallery and see if I can get some mojo from it, if not, it's going to be traded or something! LOL.
Note to self: Take a wish list with me to parties and don't be impulsive!

Diana, I agree with everyone else. Try it out and if you don't like it then trade it. I know exactly how you feel though. I bought In Full Bloom, I was so excited and after I got it I sat there going, what do I do with this. I used it a few times when I first got it but the last time I used it I think was close to a year ago probably.

Well, I thought I ordered it but apparently didn't. So, I'm in the opposite place. I order stuff all the time and then decide I don't like it. go figure

I agree about the set Warm Words. The words are just not my style, and after getting the set, (just dying to get it), I realized, I will probably not use it much, if at all. So it has been traded. This has happened to me a few times now, so trust me, you are not alone.
Sometimes I feel that way, but then I will run across a really cute card here using the set. I won't use a set for a long time and then all of sudden try it and end up liking it. I go through the gallery all the time scoping out ideas for sets I'm not that fond of...which is many, I just don't have a great imagination!
That happened to me with a Sun and Moon set I got years ago. I used it one time! But Kelster is right - sometimes you do see a new idea here and it brings new life back into a less loved set.

Oh my gosh... is that the truth! I bought Loads of Love and used it a couple of times, could not really get into it, so I just traded it, and today I see a beautiful card in the gallery. I am so mad at myself for trading it now!!!!

There are over 800 cards in the gallery that use that set. That is quite a bit, so you probably will get a lot of ideas on how to use the words. So far, I have not regretted purchasing any of the sets I now have.
