Default Favorite stamp/scrap store in LA area?

I am going with my husband on a business trip to LA for a week in May. I will have a car for three days and I would like to go to some stamp or scrap stores. What would you suggest as your favorite store?

I drove to Raleigh last summer to visit my brother. I went to two scrapbooking stores and they both closed since last summer. I saw a similar topic from over a year ago and I am not sure if those stores are still open.

I am from the Boston area and these stamp/scrap stores are few and far away.

Scrapbook Depot in Los Alamitos, and my mom says ABC Scrapbooking in Torrance is really great.

Stamp in the Hand in Carson, CA is big (310) 515-4818
Stampworks in Pasadena, CA (626) 821-3110
Papper Rabbit in Monrovia (call directory for store number)
Stampin On Cloud 9 in Monrovia (626) 358-2886

There are tons of stores, I just didnt know if you know the area or if you have a particular area that you wanted to go to. I live in the outskirts of the city so I go to stores out where I live which is about 1 - 1/2 hours away from L.A.

There is also a place called Tollhouse Mouse in Cerritos that is suppose to be really cute (sort of like a Joanne's but nicer!).

Thanks for the information.

I would drive up to an hour since I drive at home an hour to my scrap store. I can spend hours in a store once I get there. It is just after my birthday and mother's day so I want to shop. I can fit lots in a suitcase!

I got some great stores recommended from SCS to check last summer while I visited my brother in Raleigh. This site is the best!

What part of LA will you be? Traffic is awful in the LA area - so an hour drive will really depend on the area where you plan to stay. You could try using a "store locator" (if your favorite stamp or paper company has one) and put in the city or zip where you plan to stay. I know A Muse has retail locations listed on their site here:

Here are links to a few places I've heard about:

Forgot to mention - just scroll down on the page to get to the "store finder".

We are staying downtown Los Angeles by the convention center. For my husband's days off, we will be driving to Universal which is 10 miles north and Disneyland which is 25 miles south. We are getting a GPS in the rental car. I got a free direct flights from frequent flyer miles I did not even remember I had since they are from 15 years ago. We traveled often before I had my twins who are now 13. I hope to go back next year with my twins for a week vacation.

I remember LA traffic since I have gone several times to Annaheim for business before I had my twins. My husband and I almost missed a plane since it took so long to get to the airport in morning rush hour and we could not find the place to drop off the rental car. The flight was no longer listed. They let us on the plane but our luggage came on a later flight. That is why we are flying out on Sunday this time.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I am excited that there are so many to chose from. In my area, I took a bus tour last fall to go to four LSS since they are so far apart.

I spend too much time on my stamping business and I want to make scrapbooking a priority again. Getting some new products on this trip will be great.

Definitely hit Tall Mouse. It's much better than Michaels and JoAnns. In the same shopping center is Strictly Scrapbooking, both in Cerritos. Also close by is Scrapbook Depot and Memories. If you get a chance, go into Long Beach and hit Fabric Barn. Great ribbon at great prices. Not far from Cerritos is Whittier. There is I Luv Scrappin' and Screamin' Suzies. Paper Mouse in La Habra and one in Brea, ugh, can't remember the name. There are so many more, but I totally going blank.

I am a ribbon addict so I will have to go to Long Beach. I cannot believe there are so many stores to pick from. We are definitely deprived with lack of LSS in New England.
