hi everyone! I'm new...so this may have already beed discussed...what is your favorite unique embellishment lately? Right now mine are samll silk flowers attached with a mini brad. (inked with creamy caramel stamp pad for that aged effect. Anyone else with cheap embellishments?
Okay, first of all, I love the metal embellishments in the hodgepodge hardware kit from SU! I am using the swirls all the time!! It's ALL good!!
Secondly, almost every new SCSer has asked the same question. Cardstock Collector has to do with the amount of posts you have made, and the title changes with the more post you make... for more info check out this link: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Hope this helps... and WELCOME!! Glad to have you!
I like all KINDS of embellishments, and would be hard pressed to pick a favorite--my only thing is I like seeing them used sparingly, as opposed to gobs of it.
But, there is one embellishment out there I simply cannot stand to use at all, and for the life of me, cannot understand why it's such a craze:
Rub-Ons.
I tried some. They are not consistently reliable, and I spent $3 on a package of one brand, made by K & Co., and the results were so dismal I could not believe it! Just the worst quality product I'd ever tried! And they looked so pretty--I had purchased them for a 50th wedding anniversary card I was designing for my in-laws . . . I was so frustrated with that, I don't know that I'll ever try rub-ons ever again.
I still don't get the fascination with them, when you can just as easily STAMP those things onto a project, and reuse the stamps over and over and over again. . .

I had someone show me how to use soda can pop tops with ribbon as an inexpensive embellishment...well inexpensive if you drink pop. I also really liked using the Panty Hose from VSN last weekend. Other favorites of mine include beads and clear packing tape. Although I haven't used them, paperclips look like they could be a fun embellishment too...and well I have this idea for safety pins, but you will just have to check my gallery for that idea. I hope to have time on Sunday to make up some cards with this new idea.
