Default First Communion cards

A friend asked if I would make cards for her granddaughters' first communion and Confirmation. I am not Catholic and would probably not want to invest in a stamp set that I wouln't have much occasion to use. Does anyone have suggestions or samples to share.

I'd enjoy doing this for her.

As we speak, I am making invitations to my son's first communion. Since she is a girl I think you will have a little more creative "lee way" than I did. But, I think I might have gotten this idea from someone on scs and I just changed it to suit my needs. I used the lily from ageless adornment on ivorycs, used water color pencils, backed that with black. tore the botton of ivory and black. I am using the confetti tan cards and envelopes. I stamped french script on the card. I wrapped black cord two times towards the bottom of the lily/black cs. Then mounted the lily/black cs on the card. I hope this makes sense. I know that the card I saw used a pear instead of the lily. If you would like I could send you a picture, but have never uploaded anything.

Hi there. Do you have a Dollar Tree nearby? I was there a couple of weeks ago and I picked up a few stamps. I noticed that they had a religious stamp of Jesus' hands cupped. That might work really well - and for a buck, you can't beat it! If you have trouble finding it, let me know (PM me) and I will see if mine still has one.

When my oldest daughter made her First Communion, I let her choose the colors she wanted (Lavendar Lace and Barely Banana, I think). I used the cross from the old Stained Glass (or maybe it was Stained Glass II), embossed on vellum, colored with markers on the back of the vellum, and attached with lavendar organdy ribbon.

This year, I have to make invites for my twins, and since they are boy/girl, I will try to keep fairly neutral and simple. I think I will likely use ivory CS with a simple background and perhaps tone on tone embossing. There isn't anything 'Catholic' per se in the catalog, but there are some great backgrounds (Filigree comes to mind), but I think anything simple and elegant would work great.

Good luck,
Lisa
