Default First Demonstration Jitters

To anyone who prays, my first demonstration is on Friday. Please remember me in prayer, I am very nervous.

You will be just fine! We can't stop you from being nervous, it's just natural, but if you are prepared, you will be the most relaxed. When I first started teaching I followed an outline so that if I got sidetracked I could pull myself back to where I needed to be. I really suggest doing that. I just "punt it" now because I've done it so many times. The products sell themselves. They really do! If you have people there that already stamp and use SU products, let them have the floor. For example, "Mary, why do you enjoy stamping and what is YOUR favorite SU stamp set"? I've used things like that many times as an icebreaker. Just a little tip... Let us know how it went!

Well, I feel for you, having only done a couple workshops so far myself. But you will be fine. My best advice is that if you "mess up", chances are good that no one will know but you! Good luck and good thoughts coming your way!

You'll do great! Remember that you have a entire group of people at SCS cheering for you!!

Are you demoing for a group of friends or a group of strangers? (Hopefully its not a group of "strange friends"-- ) Either way, the ladies present for your demo will understand that it is your first time, and they will support you. Follow an outline to help keep your place. After a couple of workshops you'll be a pro and won't need notes to help keep you on track.

Let us know how it goes.

Melissa

Ditto Mom-of-one. But also practice, practice, practice!! I did a run on my Mom, Dad, Aunt, and DH and DS - all individually - before I did my first demo. And do a dry, silent run as you pack up everything to go to you first show, to make sure you don't forget everything. This is supposed to be fun and as long as you are enthusiastic and show your love for your craft, it will be a success!!! Good luck!!! By the way - have you checked out the demo's only forum of SCS? LOTS of great info on the "other" side!!!
