When I first make my backgrounds with glossy paper (such as with rainbow pads) the colors are so nice. Then several hours later, they are faded. I've tried a number of different glossy papers. Do any of you have this problem? If not, let me know the paper you're using!! Even the acid-free paper is doing it!

I did some polished stone last night and they looked great...until this morning. Now they look 'hazy'....definitely dull-looking and not 'polished' at all!! I have never had this happen before. When I have done this before, the technique still had the glossy look.
I tried using glossy photo paper and the black ink (I brayered with a spectrum pad) bled the next day. Now I just use SU Glossy and haven't had a problem.

I have only used SU glossy, since I can buy it from myself , and I have many, many samples that look as great as when I did them.
HOWEVER, I did discover that you can't let the brayered cs overlap or stack on top of each other untill they are totally dry!!!
I ruined many pieces once. I was mass-producing brayerd fronts, and the next morning all the places where the pieces had touched each other were faded. I had all these angles of faded colors. Now when I use glossy I wait a day/overnight before I stack them.
HTH!

I've found that if you spray the glossy paper (after you're done and it's absolutely dry) with a fixative like Krylon Matte Finish that the color comes right back up and stays there. I hope this helps.
This tip was on the card for the day website. http://www.rubberstampinfo.com/ This site shows a new card every day and has some rather helpful and interesting tips.
Random Stamping Tip
A neat trick to keep glossy card stock vibrant is to hit it with a sealer like Krylon. You can also go back and hit a card that you did already and watch the colors pop out at you.

I have tried clear embossing after its completely dry and that works well too.
