I got too anxious, waiting to see if I could get in on a goodie box, and thought I would try to start one myself. I PM'd the originator, who gave me some tips. Based upon that, here we go:
The idea is that we sometimes have extra things in our stamping area that we no longer need. We will start a box with lots of items in it. It gets mailed to the first person. She takes out what she likes. Then she should replace it with as many items as she took. (This is a new rule.) Don't try to match it up exactly monetarily, but don't replace a paper cutter with 4 eyelets. You get the idea. Then that person sends it on to the next, and so on. The last person on the list sends it to the person who started it.
If you are interested, please PM me with the following info:
Name
SCS name
email address
Street address complete with zipcode
Do you want the box to include scrapbooking items, or strictly stamping items? (We may need two separate boxes depending on your answer here.) I assume everyone wants stamping items.
When I get 10 or 12 names, I will PM you with who you mail the box to.
Please know that postage may be significant.
Please only include items that you, yourself, would use. If you don't have any good stuff that you want to get rid of, don't play. We want everyone to be happy.
We have 5 people signed up so far. I don't think we're getting more because it is lost in the threads. I couldn't even find it, and I knew it was here somewhere. I had to do a search for Goodie Box 2. I am not even sure if it is still in the same forum where it started.
Does anyone know how to bump it to a page where people will see it? If so, please go ahead and do it!
Ooohhh! I did it myself and didn't even know it. Yeah!!!!!

Reason: Forgot Something
We have 7 people so far, all across the country! One prefers only stamping supplies. All of the others say both are okay. We'll give it another day or two to see if we have enough for two boxes.
Start getting your stuff together! I keep adding things to it!
I was reminded: only things that you would like to use yourself.
I was reading another thread about ladies who impulse buy things. Maybe you have good stuff that you bought with a coupon, that other people would buy too, but that you realize now that you just aren't going to use it. I have stuff I accidentally bought two of. (I must have really liked it.)
I would love to play too. My only suggestion would be that we try to make the items all SU products or very good quality. Something you would use yourself. I was a little disappointed with a previous box exchange I did.
I'd like to play. I have some questions: what kind of turn-around time are you looking at? What about communication between the receiver/sender and the next receiver?? insurance? Delivery Confirmation?

Also, have to say that I laughed just now re-reading through the thread--my round 2 SS, Sharon (SBinGA) signed up just before me...and I got my reveal package later that day! Too funny!

I really hadn't thought about any of those things. I am basically organizing the people. I would suggest that we all get our items ready now, and try to mail it out within 3 days of receiving it. You don't really have an investment in it until you mail out your package. Insurance and delivery confirmation is up to you. I think we just all have to trust each other here. If there is an evil stamper out there who wants to take all my stuff and run with it, I guess I can't stop them. If the post office loses it, I guess it's gone.
When I set up the order, everyone will have the address and email of the person they will be sending to and receiving from.
If you would rather opt out, I understand. I really never thought it would be so complicated.
For shipping to Canada, it can get kinda high, depends on how heavy the box is. If it contains stamp sets (which I have a few to add) it could get REAL heavy. Maybe someone can set up a different swap for Canadians only. That way no one (whoever has to ship to Canada) get the high shipping amount.
And Canadians get to have fun also.
I am goint to try to sit down this weekend to put our distribution list together!
People have emphasized mostly stamp products, things you would want, no junk, and replace with items worth a similar amount. We don't want anyone to be disappointed!
Getting excited.
My sister is coming over to stamp tomorrow night!
Is there room for one more? If so I would love to play.

I hope there is room for one more. I just came across this post. I missed out on the last one and was hoping that I would be able to make the next one. I have all kinds of things that I can add in. SU! cardstock, embellishments, fibers, stamps, all kinds of goodies. This sounds really cool, and I would love to join.
I've gotten the last two PMs, and I am going to close it out at this point.
(It's 6pm on the east coast.)
Look for a post tomorrow of who sends to who.
Most people are mainly, if not only interested in stamps, so please think about that as you are getting your stuff together.
Can't wait to see where I am in the list tomorrow! Until then I will go through my supplies and see what I will add to the box. Stamps, ribbons & mizuhiki oh my!
I have been warned by people who have done this before, and wanted to warn everyone of the following:
The postage can get expensive, and could exceed the value of what you take out of the box. Yikes!
People in other swaps like this have gotten disappointed because people took out all the good stuff and left junk. Please be kind! Remember someone else down the line wants to enjoy it as well. Even the last person wants to have a smile on their face when they get their package!
Let me know now if you want to back out!
I plan to start one box, with just stamp stuff, and am looking for someone to start the other with both scrap and stamp, but mostly stamp. (I have sent a PM.) When I get an answer back, I will post the chain. I plan to have it work across the country and back again. The person who mails out the original box will get it back at the end to enjoy what everyone has put in for her!
Again, please remember that postage may be expensive, no one wants junk, and replace items with items of similar value! Let me know immediately if you have changed your mind!!!!
It's time, it's time!!!!!! We have two boxes going.
Here is a list of the order of things. Check for a PM for the complete info of who you will be mailing things to. I have it set up so that the person who mails out the original box, with her stuff will be the last one on the list. Please be sure that there is great stuff in there for her!!!

Just from the PMs, everyone seems very nice, and very excited!!! Please keep smiles on everyone's face. Mostly stamping stuff, mostly stamin up, no junk - only stuff you would want yourself. Take what you like, but replace it with things of equal value. Be creative!!!
Please post when you receive the box.
Also, PM me when you receive it, and when you send it on to the next person.
I think that we should try to send it on within three days. Thanks for playing! I hope everyone has fun!!![/SIZE]

Reason: Update
It took me a while, but all of the PMs have been sent.
I did so much typing, I would like to suggest that you PM the person you are sending to and double check the address. I was typing so fast, I am just afraid I might have made a mistake. (Probably not, but......)
Are we limited to SU products only, or is anything fair game?
Several people indicated that they wanted only SU or high quality products. Dollar stamps from AC Moore might be a no no, but I would think fibers, brads, embossing powder, etc. that are not SU would be fine. I buy lots of EP at Michael's. Someone in the scrapbooking, stamping chain asked if she could put in Creative Memories. I thought that CM was high quality, and would be fine.
If you disagree, please post your reservations here.
I'm not in the scrap/stamp chain, but I do sell CM so I think they'd be high quality. I am on the stamp only list and plan on giving mostly SU! but I do have some really cute high quality accessories bought from stamp stores that I know people would love.
