NOW what? I totally can not get inspired in my new room...I used to be out in the living room, and now im in a VERY small room. My husband says its very crowded, and I think I agree! I think I might have to move back into my living room! I had a nice little nook area in the living room, so its not like I was in the way or anything...Just thought it would be nice to have a ROOM! Guess not!
If your small room has a window, work near that so you can see outside, it helps with making it feel bigger. Maybe you could rearrange, or build some simple storage that would hide things and that would make it feel bigger. Only you know what will work best for you..........
Hi Red,
It does look tight, but I think you could fix it up so cute. What if you painted the walls a soft color, and stamped on them, maybe put a cheerful pair of curtains in the window, add some little lights here and there. I think it holds tons of potential. I would love to come over and help you set up. You don't live in NY do you?
Keep us posted on what you do.

i think ive already made up my mind to move back out into the livng room cuz thats where my family is most of the time and i enjoy being out there with them. That and i feel sooooo cramped in there, im used to being in a HUGE room...Ill repost pics once i get the living room put back together!!!
Your room may be larger than the walk-in closet that I am going to make into my stamping area! You have tons of potenial in your room......I think a little color on the walls as mentioned in the post above is a great idea. Color makes me "feel good".....and creative! I am definitely going to add color in my area and use my Mary Engelbreit collection to boost the spirit. Have FUN in your new area!!
I agree. Paint the walls a soft, brighter color (like white or off white). That alone will make the space feel larger. Some nice soft curtains on the window too. Don't give up yet!

It think your comment "moving back out because that's where my family is" hits the nail on the head!!! Perhaps you were feeling detatched from your family b/c you were in another room! There are those of us who prefer to stamp "alone" in our own space, and those of us who like to be in the midst of it all!!! I quite often get my projects all ready to assemble and color in my office (aka stamping room), then take all the pieces out and assemble things in the living room on a TV tray -- then my husband doesn't feel too neglected! I do like to have the separate space for cutting, embossing, and eyelet setting though -- then I'm not disturbing anyone with the "noise!"
You've got to do what works for you (and your family!)!!!
Hard to tell from the photo what the dimensions of the room are.
My space is about 7 x 13'. My dh and I have done a great job of maximizing it and I LOVE having my own space (I actually prefer to work away from the family as I cannot concentrate from constant interruptions).
Peg board has been INSTRUMENTAL in maximizing wall-space for storage and keeping frequently used items within easy access. My dh also just put in an L-shaped shelf just above the windows so I can store less frequently used items, and bulk supplies in clear plastic storage boxes.
My little space is my little haven, and favorite place in the whole house. . . but I can understand very well that need to be connected to the rest of the family while you are creating . . .

I would use both places. You could keep the stamping room for storage of things you don't use as often and a place you can get away to. Then set up your spot in the living room as your main work area. Hopefully the two aren't very far apart. I took over DD's bedroom when she moved out and I like being able to leave things spread out with the door closed!
