Oh and right now if you sign up, you get 2 hostess sets (one level 2 and one level 3!) from the new catalog that NO ONE has seen yet (the catty, not the sets!)
I can't imagine making my customers wait that long! I am actually a fanatic about closing asap. I let the hostess or customers know what day I am putting in the order, and it usually takes 1-2 days depending, to pick and ship and then a week from there. I personally want my stuff yesterday, so I try not to make my girls wait any longer than needed.
I second that!! Find Another demo to sign up under!!

Well... you could just not turn in your next order, which she may call about and you don't have to call her back, plus you can let her wait for 3 weeks before you finally contact her!
I would definetely find a new demo, but I would also call or e-mail Stampin' Up. I'm sure that they don't want somebody like her representing them.

LOL That's GREAT! I agree, don't sign under her and you may want to contact SU. If nothing else they should investigate and maybe make her step it up....
This is a no brainer. I can't imagine a person who is in the sales business conducting her business this way, especially for someone who is making significant purchases.
I would call her and ask that she promptly provide your order to you, or that you will be forced to take your business elsewhere. Yes, you "signed" up for six months, but there is an expectation that she completes the order in a reasonable time period.
I hope your demo doesn't see this thread. My first demo had us waiting an average of 4 weeks. I finally got fed up and asked how long it took on a thread here. She wasn't a frequent SCSer, but she saw it. Totally flamed me and even sent tons of hate email and something worse that I won't announce. But I found a new wonderful demo... and then signed under her a year later. Great demos are everywhere! Good luck!
Yep he's at Tinker........he has been stationed here for the past 4 years. He's originally from Tampa. I'm from here though.....
Very small world! Before we moved here above the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, we lived in Frolich Meadows, just to the West of Tinker's western boundary! I drive through OKC at least 3-4 times each year, including the end of this month.
You've been given some great advice. Finish your obligation to the club. Use the demo locator or word of mouth to find another demo. Spend a little time with the new-to-you demo ... get to know how she handles her business .. ask how she works with her downline, and determine whether or not she seems like someone on whom you can rely for questions, support, training, etc. For myself, I love the relationships with my downline. There is bound to be someone in the OKC area that will encourage & support you. Your current purchases alone will meet your minimums, but your enthusiasm & desire will easily lead you to sharing your pleasure with others. Go for it!

Thats to bad she is a bad demo. I love my demo, always returns emails same day. I would just do the minimum for the last two months and then move on. Sounds like shes not placing her orders when she says or it wouldnt take that long. I am in a Stampin 10 club, orders are placed on the 10th of the month and usually are available for pickup within 10 to 14 days at the latest.

Oh dear! That's horrible! I hope you reported her to DS... :(
And I agree Great demos are everywhere... and even GOOD demos are easy to find! I hope this demo doesn't leave a sour taste in your mouth for SU!
I will just finish out and place the min order................pretty sure the demo will get the hint by me doing that.
Don't hold your breath! If it's important to you that she know why you're not ordering much from her any more, I would consider telling her tactfully somehow that it's been frustrating to order stamps for particular occasions and then never get the stamps before the occasion arrives. If it's not important to you then I would want to avoid confrontation too! In general, I find most folks aren't mind-readers about the most "obvious" things, and sometimes you could even yell it in their faces and hire a marching band to get across to them, and they still won't get it. JMHO!

Well i heard back from her today, she said she's had a stomach bug of some sort all week....................I do feel bad for her, but this isn't the first time it's happened ...........kwim.
I'm a demo and I'm sad for your situation. There may be things that out of this person's control, but I would think she also doesn't have her act together. Sometimes, that's the hardest part of being a demo--getting organized.
It sounds like you're really unhappy with her; so, when your commitment is finished with her, just find someone else that will work better with you. Your current demo needs to know of your unhappiness and she may let you out of your commitment. If that's the case, call SU! and get someone else.
Best wishes in your decision. There's lots of folks on here that want you to have a wonderful experience with SU!
I'm commited for the next 3 months to finish out the club................
I think I will just order non important stuff like card stock (card stock lovers please don't get offended........lol I just mean order things that i can go get at my local store if i need them). And get my stamps and things elsewhere.
I would ditch that club. Why stay commited to something from which you receive poor service? Seems to me you've got plenty of reason to take your money elsewhere.
Get a new demo..... I had to...the one I found a few years ago never contacted me again, so I went to SU's website to look for another demo near me and I was lucky enough to find someone whose DH was in my DH's old unit before he went to Korea.
I live in Lawton, OK and there are a lot of demos around here. I like my new demo we have meeting and workshops 2-3 times a month.
If you feel like you're "stuck" with the club, just order the minimum from her and find you another demo go get the things your really have to have in a timely fashion. That way you save face and start fostering a relationship with your new demo, just in time to order the retiring sets you want and for the new catty sets to come out in June! Also, as the others have said - become a demo yourself and your get the bennies and the discount! (If you became a demo, that would be a gracious way to bow out since your stamp club demo might not want to have another demo at her party - especially if you can provide better customer service!) If you sign up, I would strongly suggest finding an upline who would be supportive - it doesn't sound like your current demo would be very helpful in her downline support if she can't get her customers what they are entitled to. Just my 2 cents.
another one for getting a new demo. I had the same problem. I finally looked around for a new demo and "interviewed" some. I found a really great one that I've had for several months now and I wish I had found her years ago. She is soooo great. Keep your hopes up. There are great one's out there.
I think since she doesn't come through with normal service that you are not wrong in quitting club. I also like your idea of ordering minimum non-important things for the next few months. In either case I would tell her exsactly why your are upset.

It's not who you know-it's whom you know.
For my stamp club, I don't deliver their orders (10 people = 10 orders every month), but I do let them know when it comes in and they are welcome to come by and pick it up. And if I knew someone NEEDED their order, I would definitely go out of my way to let them know the minute it came in - especially after you spent so much, but everyone should receive their orders promptly regardless of how much they do or do not spend.
I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time with your demo. I totally agree with what everyone has said so far. Either place your minimum order or become a hobby demo. with your size orders you could definately meet your minimum quartely requirements. Good luck to you.
Well... you could just not turn in your next order, which she may call about and you don't have to call her back, plus you can let her wait for 3 weeks before you finally contact her!
Now there's a thought! Maybe someone else in your club is withholding their order or money until after the club meeting and is causing all the orders to be late! But, the demo should let you know.
I am sorry for your frustration also. My advice is definately to become a demo too!!! But, do not sign up under her - or she probably will not do anything to support and help you and yet she will continue to earn from your purchases/sales.
Like others said, it's $199 to sign up and you get alot for your money (someone else said about $300 worth). When you sign up you get a couple extra months to make your min. ($300 per quarter) - if you sign up in May, then you don't have to make your $300 until Oct.
If you ever cannot maintain, then you end up just "dropping" a month after the quarter that you could not maintain ends.
There are alot of fun perks being a demo - the demo website, the monthly and quarterly magazines, preview of all mini's and the catty, plus the chance to buy a month a head of your customers, and some small but extra benefits (e.g. at Christmas time, Shelli sent every Demo the Polka Dots and Paisley set!). Of course - you also get the 20% discount on every purchase too!
I've always been curious, what happens when a demo doesn't meet her/his quota?
I didn't check to see if this was answered, but the demo goes into pending for the month after (so if she doesn't meet this quarter's minimum, she'll be in pending for July). She has til the end of that month to make up the difference from the previous quarter and another $100 "good faith" order. Otherwise, she's deactivated - no penalties.
I just read your post, krzylittlecara and I'm so sorry you're having a bad experience with your demonstrator. The nice thing about Stampin' Up! is we don't have "territories" and if for whatever reason you don't like or "mesh" with one demonstrator, you are free to work with another demonstrator.
I find it odd that it is taking so long to get your orders. SU suggests we wait 3 days before we process an order so that our customers have time to change their minds should they wish to. Once the order is placed it should only take 7-10 days, depending on the time of the month or quarter. If a big promotion is ending it might take a day or two longer to get the orders. I've never had an order take more than 10 days to come in. Most of my orders arrive at my door in 8 days.
It sounds to me like you enjoy stamping and are spending enough money to meet the quarterly quota yourself. So, as was suggested by others, you really should give some thought into signing up as a demonstrator and getting the discount. There is a promotion going on now where you will get extra stamp sets with your starter kit but only until the end of May.
But a word of caution -- be sure to sign up under a demostrator who will take you under her wing and nurture you and help you become the very best, whether as just a hobby demonstrator or a business demonstrator. While you can do it on your own, its much more fun to have a great "upline" to share your demonstratorship with!
Hi all! I've been watching this thread wondering if I would see somthing that would help my DD who is a demo. When she has small orders, she just does the order with her debit card, and covers the check with her family money. But when the order is very large, she does not have the front money- and doesn't have a credit card. I know, but there are some of us out here who don't have and don't want credit! So, she waits until the end of the week for the 'party' to end (sometimes folks submit orders and forget the checkbook!). Then, she goes to her bank and deposits. They still say she has to wait 10 days to clear. When she orders with her debit card, it only takes about 48 hours to have it leave her account. The only way around this is for her to drive all over town to cash checks on the bank it was drawn on. So, while I feel for the delay, I can actually see why it might happen. OTOH, my DD always tells people when to expect their order, and what day it is arriving to her house, and makes arrangements for folks to get their goodies. And believe me, she jumps for joy when a customer calls her, it means they are loving stamping and can't wait to get things! Some people do bring cash because they know the issues with checks, and it is funny to see 100 dollar bills sitting on the table- it is like we are at a poker game!
I think you have been more than fair to this demo- since you feel obligated to finish the club then finish it and move on. I would still find another demo or become your own demo. That way if you want more than the minimum of your club obligations you can give the sales to someone who is willing to earn your business or even better to yourself!!

From my experience in banking she shouldn't have to wait that long for checks to clear if they are all local. It shouldn't take more than three days. The banks just want to cover their own butt if something happens. She could call the banks to make sure there are suffient funds before cashing. I know that is no guarantee but most times it is a safe bet. If the customer has never bounced a check on her before. If they have it is worth the time of cashing it at their bank to make sure she gets the $$$ right then. She might want to tell her customers that cash is apprieciated, though. I am lucky and most of my customers do that. Just my opinion of how she can make it quicker. I have noticed that if the customers don't get the product in hand ASAP they forget how excited they were about the product and then don't order again.
If I averaged 100 a month I would totally do the hobby demo thing, and you should too!!!!! We have stamp camp on friday and by the following monday( 10 days) I have my stuff. I always get a call if I say I needed stuff asap too.
She pissed you off, right?? Become a demo and take the club people with you!!!
