Default Guess what I did!!!!!!!

I totaly gutted my stamp room yesterday and started over with base cabniets one with cubby holes like for shoes and the other end has 2 drawers and 2 shevles and a new 6 foot long counter top. I got rid of so many file boxes and those plastic storage boxes. This just opened up my room so much so today after work I will go home and finish putting everything away. I was just so excited I had to tell someone how would understand. Jo Ann

I love working on my room too.... I asked my husband for $100 gift card from Menards so that I could drywall my room. I've been in the basesment in the workshop with unfinished walls. I got the whole thing done over the New Years weekend. Drywalled, taped, seamed, primed and painted.... I had blast. My DH came down to see what was going on and walked out saying "you do good work".

New shelves and a bright color really make it feel more comfortable. I just love it!

How great for you! We're totally doing the same thing right now in our fourth room. The house we're in has small closets, so it's also a storage room (Christmas stuff, extra desk, etc.).... BUT.... now my DH brought home some warehouse racks that are 8ft long, 7 ft high and 3 ft deep (the room runs the depth of the house, it's 12ft wide x 20 ft long). All the Christmas stuff is going on the top shelf, cedar chest and stereo under the bottom shelf, and then the rest of it is all for ME ME ME!!! not to mention I have most of the rest of the room to play with! I can't wait to get it done and post pics!!!

I hope you love your new room!

Default Stamp Room

I kinda did the same thing except I just moved all my supplies in one place. I had stuff in every closet, in the garage, in the kitchen and in our bedroom. We are planning on adding on to our house in the summer so I can have my very own room, but I can't wait. Now I have my craft room and we can add on the bonus room in the summer. Everyone is happy! I was so excited that I called my friend late at night to tell her what I did.

I am super excited. Hubby agreed to buy me a hutch type cabinet for Christmas for my stamping stuff. We don't have an extra room so I stamp at the dining table. I have looked and looked for just what I want with no luck. I wanted something that looked like it belonged in the dining area but every hutch I had seen has glass doors and that isn't what I wanted. When not stamping I want everything hidden away. Well I was out running some errands this morning and I noticed an unfinished furniture store. I went in to check it out. I found a double wide bookcase with 4 doors on the bottom half and they are adding the 4 doors on the top half for me. I am sooooooo excited I can hardly stand it. The price was right too. Since it is a bookcase and not a hutch its only 12 inches deep, so I will be able to see everything at a glance.

Doing the happy dance!!!

Yippee!! Have a great time doing it! Dh and I just finished redoing my stamp room (we call it the Haven!) last night. I just posted the pictures today. He gave me this project as one of my Christmas presents. Boy, it is soooo nice to have new places to put things!!!

Enjoy your project and don't forget to post pics when you are done! We can't wait to see it.

I know the feeling of getting organized! I just went crazy with all of my SU stuff and now have a real cool system! We also just recently had our finished basement re-painted and we totally love it! Our basement is sectioned off to a home office for my DH, a playroom for the kids, and my stamp room. When we first bought our house 6 years ago, we had no kids, I was not into stamping and DH was not working from home. When My DH and I saw the basement, we saw all the potential it had and we were so excited. We were very lucky cause the previous owners spent about 10 grand and went nuts 6 months before they sold to us! The room still looks brand new, and now with a new fresh coat of paint we are all in our glory. It's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do, we know it will only add to our re-sale value in the coming months.

Default organized storage drawers...

my hubby purchased a whole room of white storage drawers from a closing out K-mart pharmacy to use in his garage.

I begged one from him and he changed it from having 4 drawers to 9 slim drawers. we added a smooth counter top with a drop down side and put the whole thing on rollers. I am in the process of sorting things into it. Punches in one drawer, ect.

It is the best height for stamping standing up which is how I always end up working anyway. I also do plan on stealing hubbie's tall bar stool from his workshop when he is not looking...

The problem I think will be that it will end up sooooo heavy I won't be able to move it so the wheels were a waste of money. The theory was to push it out into the dining room when I do a stamp nite. I am sure it would roll better when off the carpet.

I wish I had more time to work on this but I can't seem to get away from this darn SCS site.

debbiejjackson,
What's going on here? I too, stamp @ my dining room table & my stuff is
all over the dining room, pretty unorganized. It was driving me crazy &
I also wanted a hutch for storage, that looks like furniture that belongs
in that room. I looked in antique shops finding mostly pieces that have
glass doors (not what I wanted for your same reasons) also, too pricey
for me. Looked @ Furniture Box but only found unattractive laminate
kind of stuff that didn't have the right configuration of shelves either.
So the piece you found sounds like exactly what I'd like to have. About
how big is it and what was the price range, and finally, is it a chain store
that's nationwide or what? I'm in IL, in a suburb or Chicago.
