My understanding from the MM people is that their paint has a lower water content and will cause less buckling in your paper when it dries. This was their explanation as to why you couldn't just run out to the craft store and buy some acrylic paint. That, and they just look so cute sitting there on your craft shelf! (Their words, not mine - LOL) HTH

THe newer MM paints have cool tops (think shampoo, where you push down, and they flip? clear as mud?) - those metal ones look soooo pretty, but if you're a messy marvin like me. . . not so good when you don't clean them off.
I like them! Bought three sets, and got suckered into getting some individuals, too.
I love the large alpha foam stamps...do you think I could just use regular classic SU ink on them? I really can't afford to be "suckered" into buying the paints if I don't need them...
