Default Have you ever done this?

Purchased an item to use on a specific project--and then lost it?

Big Lots got in some scrapping/stamping stuff and I went down yesterday. Bought a boat-load of stuff, but one item in particular--for very little money.

Got home, looked over my goodies, put the particular item somewhere and I have spent the majority of today searching for it. The item is tiny, therefore it could hide ANYWHERE!

Finally found the dang thing. I had tucked it into my !%!#$%$# PURSE!

Now why would I do that?

I think I may have to join Shanon in a beer.
(Think there's room?)

Well of course, you put it there, in a safe place, so you would know where you put it. I do that all the time

Answer me this ~ why do people always say "I found it in the last place I looked" ~ well DUH ~ why would you keep looking AFTER you found it?

Cool

I do that all the time I can't tell you how many times I had to rebuy something because I put it in a "safe" place and forgot where that was! I'll join you for that beer!

I do that all the time. I once put my younger sons homeroom party money in a safe place..... I ended up paying for all the parties out of my wallet because I did not remember the "safe place" Well 2 1/2 years later I found it, right in the kitchen on the shelf that has all the school papers and phonebooks etc, in an envelope under the pile. I think I went to AC Moore or something for a treat purchase

I can't tell you how many times I've lost stuff and searched for hours before finding it. Come to think of it, my Mom always said, "Garnet, I think you'd lose your head if it wasn't tied on." So I guess I've been doing this all my life.
Rainsong, If misery love's company then you must be feeling a bit better now. You have a lot of company. Make mine root beer and I'll be right over.

Smile Lost items

I do this a lot. Most recent lost item: tearing edge. It's been lost for weeks now!

I have lost 19 lbs since last summer - I don't ever want to find that again! ;)

I agree - we all do the "put it in a safe place" thing - just stop looking and go do something else - that's usually when I find things!

I lose everything too...if I was a bit tidier it wouldn't happen (also if I wasn't such a pack rat). As for card making...I've had to put stickers coloured with orange highlighter on anything with a lid or cover (e.g. tweezer bee, xacto knife...) because if it's got a clear cover I definitely will never find it in the chaos!

It's true that having too much stuff costs you money. We have to buy replacements, spend hours per week searching for the things we put in a "safe" place, etc.
