Default have you ever done or attended....

...and in-home craft fair? I was reading through posts on craft fairs as I am toying with idea of signing up for one when someone said they had a table at a craft show done in a friend's home. This idea really struck me because babysitting is a huge concern for me with having a table at a craft fair.

Have you ever hosted your own craft show in your home, participated in one or attended one? How did it go? What did you do or see for advertising?

Unless it has a reputation/fame/loyal following already established (known as an annual event/tradition, etc.), and publicity for it is wide-spread by the organizer, I would hesitate to invest the time and effort in something, given my experiences in the past (loooooong ago, tho, before I discovered stamping)

I have.... I have been making fabric gift bags for a few years now and every year around Christmas time, I have an open house. I also make gift tags and greeting cards. I always make more money this way than at craft fairs. My friend is having one in Oct. THere will be other people there... someone who makes jewelry and people that work for other companies (like Pampered chef) I will be just selling my gift bags, tags, and cards, not Stampin Up products. I hope this helps.

I did one last year and it did much better than the craft fair I had the week after. I sold cards, tags, gifts etc. and there were 5 or 6 other vendors there as well, things like silpada, discovery toys. We were all asked to send info to our customer lists which brought us all new customers to look at our stuff. The table fee was minimal - $10 I think so it was worth it for me.
