Hi,
For those that have Headline Alphabet set from SU!, do you find you use it a lot for cards?? Or is it too big? I can see it being very good for scrapbooking, but I'm just into cards. Any advice?
I'm looking to buy an alphabet set. Something fairly dramatic, but that would still fit ok on a standard size card or a 5.5"square card.
I saw it the Headline Stamps used as a monogram for a card. Very nice and much more elegant than you might think. Made me put the set on my wish list. Hope this helps.

I used it for my DSs b-day invite (posted in my gallery - Go HEELS!) and saw last year someone had a VERY cute Christmas card that they put HO! HO! HO! on the front. I don't find that it's too big at all.
I must admit that I have it and have NEVER used it. I think it is a little too big for cards...although I'm sure many others will disagree!
Thats exactly why I'm worried about spending so much on it! Big alphabets are so expensive.
To the OP:
It's been on my wishlist since I first saw an SU catalog a year and a half ago. it appears to be awesome for scrapbooking- which I don't do. I borrowed it from a friend this weekend and have made 3 name frames. (However, now I wonder if I'll make many more- so maybe I don't need it) If you'd do those as gifts- then I'd say it would be worth it. I think you could incorporate it into a few cards if you were trying to get your moneys worth. Use them kind of like the monograms. Maybe a big H and B with the words "appy" and "irthday" doodled in, since doodling is in now. Or "HI" or something like that.
I really really want this set, but its just so expensive.
I've used mine for the name frames. Can't say that I've really used them for anything else, although I've thought about trying to do monogram card with it, just haven't gotten around to it yet..
I made a cute card for my DD to take to a bday party. The girl was Emily, so I stamped the letters each in a different color and then cut it out and popped some of the letters, decorating around it. it was REALLY cute. I also like to use single letters on ATCs. I LOVE the set. Got it second hand for half price so it was great for me!
I love it for monograms for all different sizes of cards and projects. I also love how Letter Patterns and Letter Prints sets are designed to do the "kissing" techniqe with the broader alphabets.

I had to have it and now I never use it. I hate the look of it! So it sits on my shelf! I thought I would use it a lot for my scrabooks and like I said it is really boring and just too solid for me (i dont even know if that makes sense LOL) Plus I just use my Cricut now for my alphas with cards and my pages-then you can make it whatever size you want!!

All this input is great! I've been eyeing Headline, too... Recently, though I checked out a stampin' sista's Big Deal Alphabet... now, after seeing it... I think it's a better "deal" (enjoy the pun)... it's still nice 'n big, but to me, it's a little more interesting...
Good idea to "pry" before you "buy" denidill  ... Good Luck to you and thanks to all posters for your feedback...
I purchased the Headline Alpha and Headline Number sets in February and I really like them. Check my gallery for the cards I've made. I really like personalizing my cards so I really like this set. I think I will also use the HA set for monograms. Kissing technique would also look very cool. HTH!
I bought mine during SAB. I have used it for a few cards (there in my gallery), but haven't used it much lately. I'd say you can use it to spell out a lot of words on a normal sized card, plus use it for other projects.

Don't know how this happened; I was trying to correct a spelling mistake!

Where does one find this Big Deal Alphabet?? Who is stampin' sista?? Is she on this site??
Hi~ Big Deal Alphabet's on page 193 of the 2006-2007 catty (Item 107345)... My "Stampin Sista" is a friend of mine that renewed my passion for rubber stamping when I moved here... she's been a wonderful inspiration... We're not real sisters, but we're united in the spirit of stamping She's on SCS now, too... I introduced her to this addictive site about a month ago... Now we're really "sick" LOL... It's more fun when you can share the madness, isn't it! Cheers...
Oh! This is the card that helped "seal the deal" (again, enjoy the pun) on the Big Deal set for me... it's such a cute card and great example of versatility... Gallery at Splitcoaststampers (Thanks, nessastamps!)...
